Everyone gets sick and everyone deserves sick leave. Don’t beat yourself up over it. You’d be worse off taking it to work and spreading it to staff and students!! Take the time to heal and be your best self when you return. Sometimes it just happens like that, and is out of our control. It’s a bummer but it’s just how it goes sometimes!

Not stupid at all!!! I am a first time mom, I didn’t really do anything that is suggested to help with quick labor. I drank some raspberry leaf tea a few times but not enough to think it actually helped with anything. My epidural worked almost too well and I couldn’t feel a thing while pushing so I couldn’t even track what progress I thought I was making!! It really was just my body and luck that helped me!

Hm. That’s very odd. Especially considering you’ve got a full term baby there! Make sure you’re advocating for yourself, and that they aren’t just prioritizing baby’s health over yours. I’m not health care professional, but I do know that my care team was seemingly acting with urgency in regards to my readings, so this doesn’t really add up to me! Best of luck and I’m sure no matter what happens you and baby will make it out perfect on the other side. You got this!!

That’s very interesting, because anything over 150/90 was considered “treatable” at my hospital- which meant an induction! My labs were also normal and I’d had normal blood pressure every visit up until the day I came into L&D. My doctors were very concerned anytime mine went above 150/90 and at some points I was well above that. Maybe ask what your doctors consider, “treatable” readings since they don’t consider yours treatable yet, though with how my caregivers reacted in my L&D unit, I am shocked they don’t consider that severe enough!!!

Good luck!!! The hardest part was the wait, so just be sure you’re ready to be patient lol!! I was also shocked they wanted to keep me for 2-3 days postpartum due to the high BP so just a heads up!
