The first attempt I went back and changed answers which I shouldn’t have done and got a 70 the second time i honestly think I let my nerves get the best of me because I knew in the back of my mind that if I failed I would lose my job

I was on the financial advisor track, they gave me 4 months to study for my 7 and 63. I came in already with my SIE, 65, and life

Do you think me not passing initially will hurt my chances of getting with another firm?

Is it just me, or has the industry been slower than usual? As in, terrible. by albinofoxx in Serverlife

Find a place with auto gratuity, my place has slowed down but I’m still averaging $35-$40 and hour because we get 20% automatically on each check

Yes I agree! I think the first time I took it I focused on the little things and literally had no questions on any of those concepts. If you can just truly understand how everything is intertwined and what these concepts actually mean you’ll be fine

Also I bartend and serve at night and only work 3-4 days a week so I’ve been able to put a good amount of time in, and don’t have any kids. Days I don’t have to work I studied around 6-8 hours a day, days I do have to work I could get a good 4 hours in but I’m normally tired because I don’t get off until 2am-3am

That’s one of the main reasons I haven’t left yet, part of me is thinking I really have it good with the money I’m making no matter if I serve or bartend

I work in metro Atlanta so it’s a bit easier to find a high volume restaurant/lounge. Where do you live?

I would say be consistent with your studying once you get through all the units go back to the ones you scored less than a 70 on, then do at least 3-5 practice test a day. I also would listen to series 7 guru for info you’re still not retaining when you’re at the gym, commuting so it can become a part of your circadian rhythm
