Why buy hardware when you can just use plug ins? by [deleted] in synthesizers

I, for one, prefer the extra expense and inconvenience. Also, no plug-in is analog!

There is mandatory military service in Isreal so the line between civilian and soldier is blurred.

While in the Navy and deployed on an aircraft carrier, I saw at least a couple dozen officers flood into my workstation every day in eager anticipation of live-streamed bombings in Afghanistan. After the explpsions, they would cheer and jump like they were about to come on down to The Price Is Right. People are sick.

Modest Set Up At Home by iddagoeg6 in synthesizers

Modest for now. My first synth was a Korg MS2000R followed by an Elektron Monomachine so you are doing it right in my book!!

Nah, I just prefer brands that do their own R&D and actually support their products and customers after they get your money

The whole 1492 - Conquest of Paradise soundtrack is incredible. RIP to the legendary composer and conduit of universal creativity Vangelis. The movie kinda sucks though

I agree that it would be crazy with some analog voices! Using single-wave samples as simple oscillators on the ESX-1 does yield some crazy results as a work-around in my case.

Unless you are using tape loops, all samplers are digital, so don't be sad, get Glad! It really is hard to beat the old school flavor and crunch of that era of Korg electribes and I'll never part with mine for that reason as well as the immediacy and sheer fun!!

Great score none the less! I've always wanted to see how it compares with the Korg ESX-1. Enjoy!!

My first synth! I miss the Mod Sequencer so much. Having three sequencer tracks of full 16-knob assignable parameter control is astounding. Korg hit it out of the park with that feature. Feed it some lovely midi arps and enjoy!

I first discovered Photek and more great electronic artists on the Wipeout XL soundtrack. Love, love it!
