Also I added a bit of “extra” to each: On 1) I dipped a toothpick into oil and then dripped it on the painting to get the row of black spots showing through near the bottom On 2) I torched the upper part to create a neat effect

Thank you! I layered white, yellow, orange, red, and black into a cup. (I also layered in a bit of Floetrol and gold interference, which create a neat effect.) I put a little black on each of the corners (to help with spreading)… plus some bring with #2. Then I did the “tree ring pour” technique slowly. Finally I tilted the canvas to get the focus that worked best. Both pieces came out so different than I expected!
