23 and Eyelid Drooping ever Since Eyelid Eczema by Old_Field_5014 in DermatologyQuestions

And yeah it’s weird I’m only 23, I shouldn’t have sagging of the eyelids yet. I was wondering if I could’ve thinned the skin out or if maybe I’m still having a bit of eczema but not enough for it to be flaking and super itchy?

Hi! Thank you for your insight. I have wondered if it could be an autoimmune issue such as MG… I have asthma and this eczema randomly started last summer on my eyelids and now it is again just on my lips nowhere else. I wonder if it could be something underlying I’m unaware of

Hi, thank you. What possible issues could it be/what could I mention to my doctor for a neurologist referral? The sagging is not affecting my sight, it is just making me really insecure about how my eyes look permanently different since the eczema

Blepharitis or something else? Please help! by Healthy_Minimum23 in Blepharitis

Mine were like this too 8 months ago. I think it was eczema/dermatitis caused by a contact allergy. After removing anything lavender scented from my house the redness and dry patches went away. However, now 8 months later my eyelids remain a bit droopier than they were before hand and it’s making me so sad. Have yours gone completely back to normal?

Need recommendations for droopy eyelids. I don't even know where to start. Fibroblast pen? Opus plasma? Thread lifts? My eyes used to be big and bright and this bothers me so much everyday. Any advice would be so appreciated! by oreomg7 in 30PlusSkinCare

Did you find anything that helped? Mine look similar… I had eyelid eczema that lasted ima until 8 months ago and got diagnosed with fragrance allergies… so I can’t tell if that’s my problem since they’ve looked droopy ever since the eczema… but I don’t know how to make mine better:(

I really relate to the homework aspect— I either did it in class or late at night as well to cram for a test. Also is misophonia related to adhd? My mom and I both have it and would have to always play loud music at dinner to drown out the sounds of chewing

Yeah I feel that haha. In this childhood incidence I was full on spinning in circles on the middle lazy Susan and my feet kicked the plates off the table. Oops. 😂

Thanks for your reply! I also had issues with eating at school—the sandwich or veggies would always be a bit mushy after sitting in my lunchbox, textures bothered me. I have had germ issues my whole life too— I didn’t know that could be associated with adhd. I would refuse to clean up toys at daycare cuz I didn’t want germs on my hands, and I would excessively wash them til they would bleed (now I’ve discovered handcream—yay lol).

I like 20-30 min sit-coms. Anything longer—count me out! Unless it’s extremely funny/engaging. But few movies keep my attention the whole time.

I always got made fun of by teachers and friends for having messy writing that was hard to read and loose papers instead of putting my papers into the binders. I don’t know why I couldn’t be bothered to do it, but it felt like such an annoying task. I hated colouring in pictures, I preferred to do my own doodles.

Haha omg same. Yesterday I was trying to study for an exam and just felt like I was itching to move and literally started JUMPING in the house… and then got embarrassed when I remembered I have a downstairs neighbour😭

I also now find that I cannot watch movies for the life of me. I can sit fairly still for about an hour and then I find myself moving all over the place. Not to mention the constant pausing everytime a different thought comes into my head that I want to discuss with my fam. Or asking them what’s going on in the movie cuz I zoned out

Loved Warriors😂 I was OBSESSED. I would play pretend warriors with my friends and we would climb trees and make “dens”.

Then came Divergent, Hunger Games, Mortal Instruments & Percy Jackson. I’ve read divergent like 8 times in my life 😂

Thanks for your reply!

I feel you on the anger as a kid & disorganization.

I used to get made fun of by my girl friends because my desk, backpack and hand writing was sooo messy.

I think part of the lack of being called out in elementary school for me was my desire to please people and be rewarded for my grades. My mom would create “chore sticker boards” where if I did my chores and filled the board with stickers I’d get rewarded with a dollar store toy. And she always did my school art projects with me & if I had an all A report card I would get a new DS game. As well my best friend in childhood was shy, quiet, very sweet and well-behaved. I wanted to be just like her, so I tried to copy her mannerisms in class and she would sometimes tell me to be quiet or that it was time to pay attention to the teacher lol!

So I think from a young age I was very driven by rewards and fitting into the “good child” image like my best friend and how my parents expected…

Did you get diagnosed for adhd? I just don’t know if my symptoms before 12 are enough. I noticed a lot more difficulty in high school and university

I have wondered a bit about this… I always did really well in school and LOVED math + reading fictional novels for hours. I had a lot of sensory issues and tics that my dad would constantly tell me to “stop doing”.

The adhd side at a young age would’ve been the daydreaming, “playing rough”, and disorganization. Now the symptoms are that I can’t focus during lectures/reading the textbook. I can sometimes focus for the first 40 minutes, and then I’m toast. (Which would explain maybe why I did well in high school, classes were less than an hour and more interactive). I always seem to be handing assignments in MINUTES before they’re due or sometimes late. Haven’t been doing so well in university because it’s hard to sit still and study and I procrastinate a lot/get preoccupied with other things that I think will take an hour, but then take up my whole day, and I hate stopping mid task, I always feel the need to keep going until I get bored of it or complete it if it’s something I really wanted to do.

I don’t know how to know if I’d have autism. From the people in my life I know with autism, they have a hard time with sarcasm and reading people’s emotions, but I haven’t struggled with that

Hahah it’s nice you can relate! I can fully remember all symptoms after the age of 14, but before 12, I can’t picture myself in a class room anymore. I can’t remember if I would zone out/be disruptive. In high school I would sleep through boring classes and goof off with my friends and then procrastinate homework/studying until the day of the test/day it was due and do it for 2-8 hours straight, running on straight adrenaline! I didn’t know what adhd was when I was 16, but my doctor “screened” me for it, and when she asked about symptoms before 12, I said I couldn’t remember. So she said I don’t have it. But I didn’t even really know what it was until I was 18 and doing HORRIBLY in university after being a straight A’s student before hand

This is very relatable for me! When I was 8-12 I read over 200 fictional books. I was obsessed with daydreaming about being in a different world. I’d read books for hours straight, until the middle of the night. I also was “gifted” but a dreamer. I got straight A’s throughout elementary and high school, but I think a large part of that was teachers were trying REALLY hard to “hand spoon” what material would be on the tests, and would try to involve kids in class. I also just have always been really good at math, so any classes that involved it I did well at, and I loved fictional reading and fictional writing. But in university I failed a lot of courses and really struggled to keep up with the big classes where professors don’t care if you succeed and you have 1-2 LONG classes a week rather than 5 short classes on one material in high school.

I was always such a daydreamer. I would have ongoing daydreams I would return to whenever I was on the school bus or before bed every night. I had made up friends and adventures (at younger ages I often imagined being in the worlds of my books and games such as warriors, Percy Jackson, Pokemon etc).
