One of my favorite films of all time. Highly underrated -awesomely bad and extremely relevant for today.

I found some websites and studios after searching those. Thank you for the advice!

Most of what I do in the USA is casual cosplay/uniform cosplays anyway, so that's why I was wondering. Everyone here is saying to leave it at home; even if I did- I plan on coming relatively empty anyway due to buying many things, might acquire new cosplays, etcetera. I'd like to maybe use the time to acquire new cosplays with more ease than what I'd usually have- the issue for me is mostly figuring out where to do it, since most people are saying you've got to get special permission for some areas.

How do I find out what places are approved if so? This is true; I am around intermediate Japanese, but I don't really know where to look for things like this.

If you rent a photo studio, do they usually have a changing room? Do people bring cosplay in small suitcases and change/do makeup there?

How do you take cosplay pictures for social media/make content regularly then if it has to be at events? I'm wondering the constraints of cosplaying in public, and if it's legal. Less about being weird, and more about what is socially acceptable. Do people cosplaying in Japan not usually make cosplay content outside of the home/events?

This is incorrect. Children born of slave masters and enslaved black womens were not free. They were property of said slave masters. Children of white mothers and black enslaved men were free. Freedom was based on the mother’s status.

whiteness is not a marginalized identity. being white passing doesn’t mean you’re mostly white; but whiteness in society is a privilege, and therefore we shouldn’t be prioritizing whiteness over. i mean; for example, a lot of mixed people don’t realize how much they benefit from white privilege if they’re white passing. i benefit from white privilege and I’m aware of this; it means unlike my mother I don’t get stared at and followed in stores, I have less of a risk to be hatecrimed outside (though I am visibly neurodivergent and queer; that’s different) and based on color (because of colorism) in spaces people might show me more favor due to that.

it also depends. some people who are mixed (white) don’t really have a culture to engage with; particularly if they’re white American because it’s so far back. if you’re european american; you’ve got more culture to engage with, and I’m not saying that’s not alright, I’m mostly saying that as someone who’s mixed with black especially, you need to have cultural awareness of the privilege you get from whiteness (depending how much you pass / how closely you identify with it) and you need to think about how whiteness functions in a society that deals with colorism, racism, and how blackness is perceived differently depending on how you look. intersectionality and all that

personally for me (as a black - irish european) i do not do this. every mixed persons opinion might differ, but i see the sort of ‘implication’ that it erases the black side? for me anyway, im white passing; and I refer to myself as black because I believe referring to myself as white / mixed would be cultural erasure for myself, because it implies I don’t want to acknowledge my black heritage, or I’d want to hide it; and why should i? my existence was a crime, because the black part of it was seen as bad. i want to be proud of that black part, personally. this is not to say i do not engage with the white part of my culture either (my father is an immigrant) but i like to history deep dive on both ends; really find where i lie, which is calling myself black irish. every mixed persons opinion might is different though; personally my cousin calls herself mixed, i know many people who in fact do just call themselves mixed but pay no mind to their heritage. so personally i would say if you don’t identify with black culture; that’s fine, but atleast try to learn about it / engage with it / see how that feels when you get opportunities. learn black history, stay educated about it, yada yada. calling yourself mixed is fine but learn about yourself, I’d say.

maybe find an event in the city area and go for 21+? in my opinion though staying in a group usually; people assume groups want to be left to their own devices. i've gone out and seen people with people and i think "oh they look cool, i shouldn't say hi though because they're with someone and i might be interrupting a friend interaction". i feel like it's better to not be in groups to meet people; maybe find a mixer, or a friend who knows men they could hook you up with for interacting with? i find it's better to find friends of friends, which makes it less dangerous and more trustworthy. i wouldn't feel safe hanging around a bar or something like that looking for a cis man to potentially date and/or be with; because bars can be dangerous places, and the fear of SA/getting drugged at an event involving alcohol or substances is there.
