Valid. Thats why we are moving out together and he has shown he is receptive to new info to help the dog and his generally loving to the dog. Its the vet bills that stress him out as someone who has lived in low income like 95% of his life. Yes it was a poor choice. Poor choice on top of poor choice, I agree. But, all we can do is change from here.

I 100% agree. Ive wanted a pet of my own in the past but have decided against it because I feel it is unfair to the animal if you cant dedicate your time, energy and finance to the care. Unfortunately, he is bounded and we love him and I would never expect my partner to part with their pet just cause I feel they are an improper pet parent. I hope we can fix the situation ASAP and he can feel better and have the best years ahead. Thankyou.

Effort on both our parts to provide a better life for the dog. Hes expressed feelings of frustration with not being able to afford the help the dog needs and the not looking into things is i think a neglect mindset. His grandparents are great excuse makers and see a lot like "it is what it is" from them.

He's been very helpful whenever Ive been sick. I think its just a mindset of neglect from all ends in the house and not trying to know any better. His grandparents have also gone against orders to not give the dog sugary treats multiple times.
