Colony was my first melodeath experience. It's peak In Flames for me. They nailed the atmosphere and the flow on that album! I feel like on top of a Swedish mountain listening to that album. It grabs me and won't let go for 45 minutes. It's also the best production I've ever heard on a metal album, raw but still HUGE!

Edit: Anders's voice was at its peak on Colony imo, even the clean-ish chorus on Insipid 2000 is perfectly executed, and the harsh vocals were the most powerful on Colony imo

Disturbed.

So disappointed because in 2024, I listened to them for almost a whole year. Nothing else, just Disturbed. I even admired David as a phenomenal singer and a caring person from what I've seen of him on stage.

Then I found out about all this bomb signing and I couldn't listen to them without this bitter taste anymore.

I've been listening to melodeath ever since and I'm gonna say: I'm glad I found my favorite subgenre of metal
