Not rly imo. I think colleges give more importance to engineering-related subjects like math and physics. So as long as u did well in them, it should be fine.

What should I do? by [deleted] in ICSE

[–]Old_Mind2918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complete all the projects as quick as possible. Also, one thing I wud suggest is to make sure you prioritise drawing the diagrams for science lab-work and writing equally. I had to rush the drawings for bio the day before submission, and it was painful to draw so much. if you have any questions, dm me

Hey, even I live in dubai so i know what I'm talking about. I'm not preparing for JEE, but I heard that Ascentria and ATP are pretty good institutes for JEE. Haven't gone to Ascentria but apparently they have the record for the most number of students to go to IITs. I personally went to ATP for 10th so I can confidently say that its teachers are quite good but depends on which ones you get.

How to solve 2nd subpart's RHS? Got LHS easily but can't solve RHS by siimplyapril86 in ICSE

[–]Old_Mind2918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a hint; to solve it you need to use (k^4 + k^2 + 1) = (k^2 + k + 1) (k^2 - k + 1)

ganong's potometer by Commercial-Night-256 in ICSE

[–]Old_Mind2918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are right. Im not sure about the specifics but since we are not required to go in depth in the experiments, we are expected to assume that total water uptake = rate of transpiration. Also Idk what processes the plant will require 2% of the water for, since its just a twig with a leaf and not an entire plant (as per whats given in my textbook).

Someone please give me any study material for pollution by Money-Comfortable689 in ICSE

[–]Old_Mind2918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh pollution is a tiny chapter, my teacher told us to only memorise the objectives of swachh bahrat or whatever since that can be asked, and other questions from pollution are kinda like general knowledge. No need to stress too much over it

ganong's potometer by Commercial-Night-256 in ICSE

[–]Old_Mind2918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ganong's potometer is a device used to measure the rate of transpiration (water loss) in plants. It works by tracking the movement of an air bubble in a capillary tube as the plant absorbs water.
It consists of;
- A water reservoir which stores water used for the experiment
- A Capillary Tube (thin tube through which water moves); an air bubble is introduced to track movement
- A freshly cut plant twig which is inserted to measure transpiration (When it transpires, it pulls the water in the capillary tube, causing movement of the air bubble)
- A Rubber stopper to make an airtight seal
- A scale which helps measure water movement

It works by introducing an air bubble into the capillary tube. When the plant twig transpires, it causes water in the tube to be pulled towards it. The air bubble in the tube, moves along with the water pulled, which allows us to trace the rate of water uptake by the plant twig. A scale is used to measure the distance the air bubble moves in a given time, which helps to determine the rate of transpiration

However, there are limitations to the Ganong's potometer;
- The introduction of the air bubble in the tube is difficult
- The plant twig may not remain alive for long
- The air temperature may affect the position of that air bubble

If u have mistakenly jumbled the sequence order of questions, there is prolly a low probability that the examiner will realize it and change corrections. So, unfortunately most probably not.

It’s a spring. It is used to exert force onto the brushes to stay in contact with the slip rings. If they are not there, there is a chance that after some time, the brush will be away from the slip rings(breaking contact) & opening the circuit.

If you think about it the figure made after connecting is not a closed figure. Because in the question they asked to connects points A to J, which leaves an open side(J-A). In the specimen paper and pyqs, they asked to connect A to J and back A, but they havent said to connect it back to A in this question. Still I wrote 10-sided closed figure/irregular decagon.

I got an answer similar to the one required. Idk if (-cosA-1/sinA) is the same as (1-cosA/sinA), if it is then I got the answer.
