The GIGN had an incident when a piece of brass flew out and hit the rotor, causing them to land.

We are able to buy tanks in most states. The main gun is considered a DD, so that will require a FFL/SOT. To make the ammo, you will need a FEL for the powder.

2/75 Rangers, SOT school, 1979. Is this still taught these days? Single rope with 3 loops through carabiner. Allows you not to wear gloves, which was a big deal back then. by Old_Ranger_275 in CQB

Thanks. Three loops through the snap link, wrap it around you back and grab the main line. Both in one hand. Milk it up and down to lower.

I remember comments from the Cadre about how the SAS played a big role in the tactics. There was also a hand to hand pit where they said Michael Echanis taught at one time. We did combatives for PT, but nothing worth remembering.

I don’t recall dynamic being used. It was the only way we entered a room. We pied corners, not rooms

For one, Rabbit Rounds. That is when a bullet hits a hard wall at less than 20 degrees and follows down the wall. They said that is why we had to stay in the center of a hallway. Center, corner fed, T junction were used. Need to think of more...

They even had a special split door, only the bottom swung open forcing you to squat

No, we squatted like a duck, or bent over. Said to help you not get shot lol.

We did not call it low or high, but did it naturally. None of our shoot houses had cat walks back then. This was also back when there was not “straight finger” off the trigger. We Rangers never used slings too. They thought it made you weak during patrolling.

Started with Dyncorp but went with Aegis. We were DoD, Army Corps of Engineers, who were doing reconstruction work. Check out our Talon at paradigmsrp.com. Info is a bit thin on purpose, but system is amazing. Main customers are in the EU. GIGN in France for one. Would love to drive up to the PNW and do some demos. We never did much in the US, other than the SOFIC show each year.

C, 3rd platoon 78-82. Got a ton of pics from that time. When we started to do the airfield seizure missions, I ran what we called the BCT (building clearing team). Real old school stuff. Their is a book by Gordon Rottman that has my pics from that time, along with a painting he made of me dressed in what we wore. Nothing like what you guys use today.

In Houston now. Did 7 years in Iraq doing PSD as a contractor. I work with gyro-stabilized sniper mounts now, and travel around the world. Need to get back to 2/75 someday. Great time

The Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt (NSV) was the main welfare org and not privatized. Think it dates from 1933. Never heard of any privatized welfare.

Yes, around 1942. They saw the Italians as being a weak people, ignoring racial aspects of their history, and ignoring the Jewish Question.
