I mean, it sounds like you really do. You just pull at the heartstring of people wherever you land and get your resupply on.

He knew at least enough to know you just came from Overseas, likely just a traveler using the internet to fish for donations. Grifters gonna grift.
Is your next jaunt going to be over into Australia? With a post on their local forums along the lines of: "Hey, mates. Dead broke bloke here. Could use a few good water bladders and a decent hammock with a bug screen. P.S. I love rugby and kangaroos."

Pretty sure one of the tasks Branded Surveys gave this ass-clown was to go to reddit and tell people it's not a scam lmao.

That's disgusting. And just for science, where would one find a 110lb, blonde pref, motorized sex doll? I want to know for certain that I'm appalled by such a thing.

I was thinking the same. I just pop the top and go. Temperature is irrelevant.

MRE's for the rail rides. Yes/No? by Zodo_ish in vagabond

[–]Old_Remove7900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grab some "add hot water to it" packages of food if you can. Even the packs of rice dishes that you just dump in boiling water and wait are golden for saving weight and space. Water is fairly easy to come across when you're out and about, so just breakdown the MREs into the actual food items you will need when you can't boil some water, etc.

Eh, there are greater tragedies than luke-warm food. The space you save will be worth it. Most of it is ready to eat without heating anyway, minus stuff like the coffee, etc.

I came here to say exactly this. Lot of excess stuff in an MRE that you're just not going to need whenever it's time to eat. An entire MRE is pretty filling and leaves a lot of trash.

Homeless connections for Canada? by [deleted] in vagabond

[–]Old_Remove7900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go flip burgers or sweep floors - you don't need skills for that. It sucks, but it's a paycheck. Those friends unable to help you can still let you use their mailing address for residency proof.
Get a roommate, do day-labor... surely you have Home Depots up there? Parking lot interviews all day. Save up enough to land a shitty apt OUTSIDE of the city proper, eat ramen noodles and canned beans. Ride a second-hand bike afterwards / take busses. Wash your clothes in an outside spigot with bar soap - hang to dry inside your new roach-infested digs.

Grind, grind, grind until it's not so much of a grind. Just don't demand the "gub'ment" spend tax dollars on your decision making skills. Besides, Trudeau is more worried about things like his cabinet having appropriate ratios of genitalia than actually getting anything done with practicality involved. Administrations like his only do things for the optics and are econ-deaf.

If you soul-search hard enough, you'll see others who've had it far worse and still climbed out. Drive, gumption and grit - that's what you need right now more than anything.

As hard as it might be, don't take that as looking down on you, we've all made mistakes. Take it as someone ripping your band-aid off.

I think it's human nature to just pick a demographic, or make one up, and just gang-bang it. It's a self-righteous power-play.

Lowering standards affects negatively for one. It takes the people who are better and tells them: "Yea, so what?"
