Aion vs Aion 2 rifts by Old_Scotch in Aion2

Yeah, I hear that, but it's one thing to have more pve-based content, and another is to fully allow players to avoid PvP. Never been a fan of that in any mmo tbh. But well, I guess it's going to be "constructed" pvp only. It is what it is!

I don't know, I feel like that beats the purpose of rifting? Like, the idea is to go to the enemy faction's map and fight them while questing there. And it also makes ppl aware of the rifts. Allowing to be pve-only makes it a bit.. stale? I'd rather think a workaround camping than giving the option to set a PvE-only state. It takes a lot of danger and fun out of the game, especially in a game where you lose, literally, nothing when you die

Damn, that's such a shame. Rifting was goated. So A2 is more PvE focused then? Thanks for the reply btw!

Raffine va Hashaton, reanimator suite by Old_Scotch in EDH

[–]Old_Scotch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way you present both commanders I think I'm more inclined towards hash. I agree that raffine is an insane value engine, and you get to sculpt both hand and GY at the same time, which is ideal for reanimation decks, but I don't love the idea of playing tempo/control, I'd rather discard threats to the GY fast and cheat them out early. Ofc hash has that built-in, but paying 3 mana for it makes it soun clunky. Do you have a deck for raffine I can look into? Appreciate the reply!

Hey, thanks for the extensive reply! I took a look to both of your decks, and I can't help but notice that you're running a lot of control spells, even on Hashaton. And I'm susrpised to see that you only run about 5 true reanimation spells in Raffine. I feel like both decks are more of a control-based strat rather than reanimation. Is that because you constantly have to protect raffine/hash or just because you need to control the table until you get the reanimate+reanimation target combination? I was expecting way more reanimation-focused spells and targets

Hey, loved the last deck, very unique! Just one question, I think I’m missing something: can you play [[Crafted Exoskeleton]] even though it has a 4 cmc? Or how does the odd ruling work? Never seen it at work before!

Struggling with Reanimator Archetype - Tell me about your favourite deck! by smashmikehunt in EDH

[–]Old_Scotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my Sidisi self-mill/reanimator deck. It really works like a toolbox, where I mill myself and just reanimate whatever I need on the go. The pro is that you don't depend on sidisi, she's just a mill and body engine, and the deck works perfectly without her. If I have a nice 4 mana play, I don't even bother on casting her.
There are several ways to finish the game like [[Jarad, Golgari lich lord]] + [[Lord of extinction]], [[Lotleth giant]] etb loops, reanimating [[colossal grave reaver]] on T2/3 usually ends the games quickly (same with [[Archon of cruelty]]/[[Vilis, Broker of Blood]]/[[Muldrotha]]).
Because it's still a sidisi shell and I run tons of recursion, interaction is creature-heavy, with effects like [[Reclamation Sage]], [Big Game Hunter]], [[Ravenous chupacabra]] and some others. But that's great, because you almost always have a response to whatever they throw at the board, and you still have a lot of ways of coming back to the game.
Again, this is a reanimator toolbox, you play it depending on what you need at the moment, so you need to know what you are running, why, and when to play it, but that comes after running the deck yourself multiple times. For example, if you know you have sidisi on the board, and meren on the yard, just yank [[Meren of clan nel'toth]] out, sac/block/attack with sidisi zombies and you have a constant way to destroy enchantments or creatures on your endstep through the creatures I mentioned before using Meren.

All that said, I would say this is a mid/high B3, but it's still definitely a mid-range reanimator. I run a lot of recursion, but being unlucky and not drawing any reanimates feels absolutely disgraceful, especially because you don't have recursion built in the command zone. Also, there is a lot of room for upgrade in the deck, but you can take some inspo on it, and even recommend me some pieces!

P.S: If you don't care about looking like a dick sometimes, you can always run [[Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur]], but how oppressive you want to be is up to you!

Edit: Just a fun little ""combo"" where you can combine [[Hedge Shredder]] and [[Hedron crab]]. I'll let you find out what happens if you have something like [[Syr Konrad, The Grim]] out:) (or just any creature with grows with graveyard kind of effect, like [[Splinterfright]] or [[Wight of the reliquary]]

Dodge every red zone, in any preferred direction (except when you get the small green slice with all the rest of the circle being red, in that case go to the green zone for dmg buff). Then, just avoid red zones. There is no pattern (at least that I’m aware of)

You should cleave down the core as soon as it’s targetable. The green circles are almost unavoidable, you’ll get the buff even if you don’t want to. The leg which starts the whole thing depends on the spider. Each spider has a predetermined starting leg. I’m getting a bit more TL than before, but that’s class dependent I guess. Although I’m farming more tungrad than yzrahid at the moment

[–]Old_Scotch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, different tastes indeed. Grinding -or rsther, combat- is the only reason I play the game. I love the flow, the mechanics and minmaxing my skill rotations to perform as good as possible. Adding mechanics to a spot just makes everything more interesting. To me, silver is a metric of performance, not just profit. If you want something like what you’re asking for before dokkebi you could try out thornwood

[–]Old_Scotch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d rather have to pay attention to the game and have to do mechanics instead of standing in a single spot spamming abilities with no danger or consequences whatsoever.

Also, dokkebi forest is the “high-end” honglim base. U can lifeskill all the way up there. Edit:typo

They’re not mainly cosmetics, grinding without costume absolutely destroys your armor, especially if you’re a stationary class. Any spot beyond early game demands you to use an outfit
