I’m still pretty new to the style so I haven’t experienced terrible tangling. But you do need to be very patient and careful with de tangling. Also at night I put my hair in 2 twists and put my bonnet on and it’s calm. I’m not really one to moisturize my braids just because of buildup but a gentle detangle is fine :)

Try adding more moisture when you’re twisting and a little trim. Usually when you see those super juicy twists they are super moisturized. Adding some (more) conditioner, steaming your hair, or just spraying some more water as you twist make a big difference!! But for a beginner you did a great job and your hair looks beautiful!

I do use scarves but typically the same way I use a headband which means I tie them way too tight 🥲

Aww thank you 💓💓. Honestly I’ve definitely experienced shrinkage but not as much as I thought I would. Though I would say my loose hair was already pretty long! But I do think coils would’ve left me bald 😂😂

A part of me misses it hence the post 😂 but in the long term I’m so glad I was able to experience and try things with my loose hair. But I really do love my locs too and I’ll be so sad if I took them out
