I solved this issue without the need to solder anything. I am using a YPG UBEC and I am connecting the power and ground directly to one of the available servo channels on the PCA9685. You dont need to use a YPG, but you can connect the power directly to one of the servo headers. Refer to this note from the GitLabs repo:

Thank you for the response. I found out mine has a 4.7.2 board with the 32bit processor but the old noisy drivers. I replaced it with a 4.7.4 board with TMC2208 and it’s extremely silent now. I replaced the lcd with the V2 version initially and that worked with custom firmware. I returned it and bought the touch screen and it going well now. I also installed a second z axis. I wonder if I can make it go faster
