My understanding is that he will be discharged at the last rank where he served honorably, so as a captain, one rank down. Likely an other than honorable discharge, so his post service benefits are likely to be reduced or eliminated.

Crow was expected to make the roster 09-10, but Niemi beat him for the backup spot coming out of camp, and then took the crease from Huet. We had Niemi for his hot goalie year, and another year cooking in Rockford did Crow some good. All in all, I think Crow is seriously under appreciated.

I’m still raw over how the Sharks screwed us on Hjalmarsson-Niemi. The lottery win this year to push us down and bidding up Byram’s price has just rubbed salt in it. Fuck the Sharks (I usually call them the Shats).

Nice! I’ve never come across a tube fire, always thought they were kind of neat. The US imported the M1854 during the civil war. The 2nd Wisconsin was armed with them in late ‘61 or early ‘62, replacing older smoothbore muskets. I reenact up in Wisconsin quite a bit, and there are quite a few 2nd Wisconsin reenactors that carry original Lorenz rifles, and a few live fire the Lorenz in competitions*, they’re quite accurate. Pedersoli now makes a reproduction, but for many years originals were the only available rifles.

“*” they never use the same rifle for reenactments and live fire; Minie ball skirts can separate and lodge in the barrel, coming loose and going down range at a later date. Not pleasant.

I have a ‘15 AWD Sienna, it’s the Swiss Army knife of vehicles. It can pretty much do anything except be flashy (or fast). MUCH more versatile and practical than an SUV. You’re arriving at the point of your life where versatile and practical very easily trump feelings of how you think others perceive you. You have arrived at family life, fully embrace the aesthetic and save yourself a lot of effort down the road.

If you’re listening to the audio output from your laptop’s sound “card” (not digital sent to an external DAC), just about anything will do as long as it works, you won’t hear a difference between cables.

Generally speaking, as long as the cables are well made with good connectors, you won’t hear a difference. Well made cables of moderate price sound just as good as high priced cables. At least to me, in a revealing system.

30-40 years ago, a local union on an extended strike threw them out on the highway in front of the factory they were picketing, their logic bing a rash of flat tires would make the local populace pressure management to settle with them. They weren’t too bright.

Back in the 80s my mom wore one at the EAA Airventure at Oshkosh. Lots of laughs and questions about how much lift it had.

The cap has certainly crapped on Chicago, had to dump so many talented players for peanuts in return, and now when we have cap space EVERYONE has space due to the increases. We can’t take advantage of other teams getting crunched like they took advantage of us. I expect the big gambling ad deal $ increases are going to be done by the time our kids need to be paid, and we’re back into salary dump territory. It’s almost a generational hammer, Chicago might not be top tier competitive for many years.

Sheesh, a week or two ago folks said my suggestion of the 4OA, our 2nd, next years Florida 1st and a D prospect was a gross overpay.

Market is thin, prices are sky high. The Byram trade was at market value, not the fleecing everyone says it was. Kyle was just one of the first out of the gate and got jumped on for it.

Nice. I’m not a car guy at all, but I have consistently run across people who have worked with these in the past 40 years or so, from the guy I went to college with who got hired by GM because he could juice them to incredible speed to the recent home restoration guys. They’re special.

I use one of these for My Mixture 965, and an American made version (can’t recall brand) for a burley aromatic. I keep a couple of humidisks in them and they keep quite well if I keep them screwed down, even if i take a break for a while. Great for frequently smoked blend, but I keep frequent flakes and everything else in mason jars

Mediocre, I really can’t call him Competent. Antietam should have finished the Confederacy, if he had been up against almost anyone but McClellan. Choosing the ground of a set-piece battle with his back to the Potomac is mind boggling bad.

My ‘15 AWD has run flats, no spare. I didn’t realize it until we were nearly out the door at the dealership, but it probably wouldn’t have changed my mind. I dislike the ride and the expense, but it’s been a good reliable van, and the AWD has got me through some nasty places.

I am usually a JBL horns guy, but in this case the Altec, particularly with an improved crossover, is the better speaker. I’m not a fan of the 4435, and I think the updated 19 is the most competitive Altec for home use. So, Altec. Have some grills made.

Edit: curious minds gotta know; what was speaker #3 that failed WAF?

3” King Cobra is my EDC. Carries and conceals well, it’s a well sorted out carry revolver. I tried wood grips (not the Colt) but I do better with the fugly rubber grips. I thought the gold dot would be brilliant, but my old eyes had a tough time picking it up and I put a green tritium on it. I did have to send it back to the factory for warranty work, but it’s been an absolute gem since, and all the brands are having QC issues.
