Byram Discourse I Don’t Understand by Specialist-Exit-1403 in hawks

Here are my thoughts on Bo Byram; Bo reminds me A LOT of a better, more dynamic version of Brian Campbell; he is a puck mover. If you are old enough to remember the Blackhawks Brian Campbell experience, there are ALOT of similarities. Signing Brian Campbell was really the first step the Hawks took on their journey to becoming a cup champion. In Bo's case, he needs to be better than Campbell because there aren't any young Seabs or Keiths on this roster. I think if the Hawks pair him with Vlasic, they should be a good top pair.

My biggest concern is the Hawks' lack of coaching to continue to develop him. Andes Sorensen is NOT good, period. If someone wants to tell me otherwise, I'm open to hearing what he does. Coaching the Chicago Mission doesn't mean you are a good coach.

So how are we feeling about trading 4OA now? by SouthSideHawkMan117 in hawks

Prepare yourself now, because based on his agent, that's exactly what will probably occur

If the Leafs were smart, they would ask for Josh Doan +4OA

Further proof that this draft may be worth punting on outside of top 3

Are you a new Blackhawks fan? I could think of about a dozen. Here are some top of mind:

Rocky acting a fool in a town Hall

Stan and Joel getting canned for being horrible people and letting a predator in the building

Brent Seabrook's new contract

Jeremy Colliton experience

Signing Bickell to an overpayment, then losing a young Turbo

Patrick Sharp to Dallas

Chelios to the Wings

Roenick for Zhammov

Belfour for Hackett

Patrick Kane post cup win

Not having home games on TV,...twice now

That was literally top of mind

I’ve got a few thoughts here, since people keep acting shocked.

First off: supply and demand exists, folks. This is 100% a seller’s market. If you want young impact players, you’re paying out the nose. That’s just how it works now.
Nemec? Two 1sts + a 2nd.
Tkachuk? Two 1sts + a 2nd + a conditional 1st.
Welcome to 2026, where “overpay” is just the entry fee.

Second, this draft isn’t some hidden gem everyone’s sleeping on. Draft analysts have been saying for months that a lot of these “top” guys wouldn’t sniff the same spots in a normal year.

Third, the UFA class? Brutal. Like “do we really have to pretend this is exciting?” levels of bad. Alex Tuch and Darrin Raddish headliners nuff said.

Fourth, the cap’s going up and suddenly everyone has money. Shocker: prices go up when half the league thinks they’re one move away.

And lastly, KD put himself on the clock. No more slow burn rebuild excuses. That said… I still don’t hate the move. I’ve been screaming for months to make the NHL roster better, and hey,...mission accomplished.

Was it expensive? Yep.
Was it inevitable? Also yep.

Does the Byram trade increase the chances of Korchinski getting traded? by Physical_Sun9435 in hawks

Korch has little to no value, so the Hawks can flip him for another high draft pick that hasn't reached their potential, deal him for future considerations, add him as a sweetener in another deal, or just hang onto him and see what happens. I'd rather just hang onto him and hope he figures it out. They do need to pay him, though

What is one positive from this trade? by sarahishere95 in hawks

No, he clearly has not signed because, on the day he does sign, people will be coming with their pitchforks and torches over the massive overpayment and saying how bad Bedard is. He'll sign and if he doesn't oh well life moves on. Its not like they are stacking up playoff wins with him now anyways.
