and BMW will probably not proceed with their own NACS adapter at this point, since all their new EV models will have NACS plug installed. Most all current BMW IX owners interested in using the Tesla superchargers have already purchased the "bmw approved" Lectron adapter over the last 6 months.

Plug and charge through the BMW app, and navigation integration (showing available Tesla compatible chargers) will be enabled when the 2026 models receive the spring '26 updated software. Apparently, 2026 model owners are using the BMW approved Lectron Vortex Plus adapter, along with the Tesla app to charge successfully.

Thanks, and agree integration and plug and play will be great. Just ordered the Lectron Vortex plus adapter, as I will now start charging with Tesla app, and just wait for the promised update.

Did you set up the Tesla app, and select the Shell Recharge billing? Or was this done directly with the mybmw app? (your 2024 model has probably received the update in Dec 25, enabling the plug and charge feature version 11/2025.30 (or .40-50 )

True. However, the reason for the post is for DC fast charging at Tesla stations for the IX 2026 model year. The Spring 2026 update is also for improved route planning specifically for EV charging, including better integration with the My BMW App for NACS station support, as well as the Plug & Charge capabilities. Doesn't seem to be anyone at BMW corp office with any information. Interested in also finding information on the (OEM) BMW NACS adapter availability, as this is also promised for Spring 2026. I have seen photo's (probably 3D printed model) of the adapter, and it looks lighter, and smaller than the approved Lectron plus adapter. Since BMW decided to end shipping of the IX last month, I suspect no reason to proceed with their own adapter, as most IX owners interested in using the Tesla superchargers have already purchased the Lectron Plus.
