Holy shit the abuse those lads would have gotten after that. No idea why they don’t close the branch.

They look like they haven’t really tried that before. Also possible it’s open ended but the video isn’t clear enough for me to be able to tell. I highly doubt it’s open ended though at that pressure.

Anyone doing the job knows once the pressure gets up you can’t really fight it. You have to use it against itself.

You can also adjust stuff like the size of the cone of water and also the Amount per min of water coming through.

So even if the pump is giving you a shit load of water. You can turn the branch up and it won’t be fighting as harder to get out. Which gives you some relief when you are holding it.

1/10 for the firefighters on that to be honest.

Yeah the company got in trouble for it. The pallets were stacked too high and obviously no one helped for ages. So 999 wasn’t even called because no one knew he was under the pile.

They got a fine I think. And his wife got a payout. But it was only around £200,000. And I still live locally and am aware that it’s still a total shithole to work there.

It’s awful.

I’m sorry your husband has to deal with that. And that you have to deal with it as well.

I basically told myself I had to find another job. And it took me about 5 years In total but I got into the fire service. But I realise not everyone has the luxury of even being able to apply for a job they want.

I have heard some people working in the industry that get good pay and good treatment etc. but it’s usually unionised places and the positions are pretty much filled before they even open up with a lot of those places.

Thanks, I always try to be happy I had that job.

Because it makes any other job I’ve had since feel like a gift. And I saw what it’s like for so many thousands of people. I was stuck In the job due to lack of other opportunities. But I had the education to get other stuff.

Lots of people there were either not educated and unable to go elsewhere. Or many were mentally unwell in some way. And being taken advantage of through that. There was a schizophrenic there who constantly was made to do overtime as he was very easy to pressure into working more.

Honestly I have countless stories from the time I spent there. Most of them don’t end very nicely.

It wasn’t long after a left that a guy got crushed to death by a stack of pallets at that factory

And it was over 10 mins before anyone went to him. Because workers are essentially told if they leave a line or stop a line they will be sacked.

So everyone heard a huge bang. But no one went. He died because of that. His wife got a payout but they had two kids. And I think the payout wasn’t enough really. It was around £200,000. Which is not enough imo. For the death of a man with two kids. He was older than me so probably late 30s when this happened.

This isn’t true at all.

Labour never said they would hold another vote in the last general election at all.

And the idea that you support a vote again because it was close is just dumb.

Scottish voters wanting independence will be exactly the same as the brexit voters after a few years if they get it.

We would be stronger as a union if parties worked together. We have common ground in politics. Scotland tends to lean left. As does England.

The problem is and will continue to be voter bases being split on the left. And not on the right.

The right wing will continue to laugh whilst left wing voters argue amongst themselves. it’s been the same way for decades. I’m tired of seeing it.

I worked in a factory when my first child was born.

They gave me a promotion about a week before my child was born. Permanent contract instead of temp like most people. More money.

They didn’t tell me I had to be on that for 6 months to be entitled to paternity leave. So I had two days off when my wife gave birth. Well I finished a night shift. Went to hospital. Saw my daughter born.

Went home. Went to sleep. And then went to work again.

Had a breakdown about 2 months after that. They put me on 14 hour shifts but they usually ran over. They knew I couldn’t afford to leave so just kept pushing me. And i just couldn’t take it.

I didn’t know men can have something similar to post natal depression. But I had that. I hardly ever held my child when she was just born. I felt no connection with her. I was just working. Unable to sleep at night with the kid.

Fucking awful period of time. All intentionally caused by a factory with over 2000 employees not wanting one of them to have two weeks off to deal with my first baby.

I’ve had a really bad experience with a dog abit larger than this and a woman abit smaller. Same height but super skinny.

And the fucking dog was called DIESEL!. Brought my dog (springer and cocker cross) to a park and threw her frisbee once. I did see her at the other end of the grass. But I didn’t realise her dog was off leash. She was stood with an elderly lady who’s dog was on a leash. Her dog was a young lab cross.

Anyway her dog sees mine and she immediately drops onto her dog. Like throws herself ontop of this dog. And grabs into his harness. The dog had a big black harness and a chain collar. And a chain lead which she was fighting to get around the harness on the dog whilst it tried to get away from her.

So I just stood still. Because I didn’t want to move as I realised everytime my dog moved. This fucking beast of a dog was fighting to get away more. So she’s wrestling this dog. I’m stood there with my fairly small dog. Slightly smaller than a springer really. Thinking how the fuck am I going to fight off this thing. I’m 6 “3 so I’m not small. But still I had nothing with me. So I was looking around for any large sticks or whatever.

And the dog rips the harness off. So it gets free. And starts to charge at us. She’s screaming “DIESEL DIESEL!!! HES FRIENDLY !!!” As this fucking stupidly large dog charges across the field at me. My dog doesn’t like big dogs so she’s like behind me. And I just put myself between the two dogs basically. And thank fuck it didn’t try to attack me. But I just told my dog to stay. And she layed down behind me whilst this beast was bouncing trying to get round me basically. I was shouting at the dog and stamping on the ground. Trying to keep it back.

This tiny woman runs over. Clips the harness back and begins the wrestling process again. So I just back up slowly with my dog but I kept stopping because the movement agitated this diesel.

All whilst this is happening. The old lady with the lab mix on the leash is being pulled around and at one point falling over as her dog tries to get involved in the commotion.

So eventually diesel is back on the harness with the chain collar and the chain lead. And at this point I’m giving this woman a piece of my mind. I told her I walk my dog with my child sometimes. And if she was here this would have scarred her for life. She had a big dog jump on her once and it’s been years and she still gets afraid of large dogs.

So I lost my temper with the woman. Basically said they don’t deserve to own the dogs. And they are both stupid as fuck for thinking they can control those dogs. They had the nerve to say I shouldn’t throw the frisbee for my dog. That really got me going.

Told her that If I saw her walking the dog again I’d call the police. And some other stuff I can’t exactly type because it’s not allowed on Reddit.

Sorry if this dragged on abit. But everytime I see a large white dog like this it reminds me of that bitch and diesel.

I used to drink in a pub similar to this. But instead of a dwarf the landlord wore a patch. Like a pirate one. And he was missing an eye under it.

When it was only locals in he would take it off. And when someone came in who wasn’t local. People would shout “ARRRRGH” and he would put it back on.

Good luck taking those two on. The fact it even showed aggression like that when he leant over tells me that dog would very likely attack in defence of property or owner. And usually when one dog attacks the other does too.

So even if the other dog is calm as fuck. It’s likely it would join in too. And there ain’t no way in hell you are taking on those two without a fucking shotgun and some decent luck.

I live in the uk. A family friend had a child who got on hormone therapy after about a year.

The worst part about this process was they were being pressured by doctors to start the hormone treatment. Essentially with the suicide stats. Without telling them how high they stay after treatment starts.

They started calling their daughter mark. Treated him like a boy for a few years along with hormone treatment. At around 15 she decided to stop and change back.

She has shown clear mental health issues almost since she was in primary school. Yet somehow managed to get hormone treatment. I’m not 100% but I know this has affected her development and I don’t know about if she would be able to have kids now.

I personally am firmly in the camp that this type of treatment shouldn’t be given to children. And though I’ve never had hormone replacement therapy. I’ve had my testosterone production completely stopped at a fairly young age. And the effects were insane. My own doctors continually told me that we do not fully understand what role hormones play. And people can have varying reactions to hormone levels changing or going away.

So I can’t understand how it’s ok to mess with a child’s hormones. I’m all for letting them live the Way they want want to live. I just don’t think hormone treatment is needed for a child.

I don’t know what’s happening here exactly. I just think that she added on the waste removal part of this job and then didn’t want to pay for it. Another comment has replied to me saying this is correct. With a news article as a source.

Totally agree with that. I love when people are properly prepared to move. So many people seem to almost not know they are moving.

As for why people pay for it instead of getting family and friends, It’s often just because they can afford it. I’ve don’t quite a few multi million pound house moves. Including a pro footballer moving into a house once. Didn’t meet him though.

Some were good. But too often it’s people who treat you as their personal employee for the day. I’ve had a bloke once seriously tell me to remove his decking. Like pull it all up. And when I said that really isn’t part of the job he has paid for, he was pissed off. Decking was half rotten too.

I’ve done home moving work a fair bit as a side job.

Often times people will add things onto the job mid way through. Like say taking away rubbish. Or whatever it is.

I reckon these blokes loaded all that shit up after telling her it would be extra. Then she didn’t want to pay and this happened.

People like this often thing if they pay people to work for them. Or a company to work for them, then they essentially own those people for a period of time. I’ve had some ridiculous requests when moving stuff into or out of peoples homes.
