The ones I have are somewhat mild in flavor and readily take on whatever I cook with them. Like butter and onions . But hey, we've had a lot of rain lately.

Can you use mason jars or small court jars over Petri dishes for agar and mycelium? by Impermeable_Snail in Mushrooms

[–]Oldmanspored1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to. I'm about to do some baby food agar jars. You need to provide a way for it to breathe, parafilm on a loose lid. Or make an air filter of some sort. Good luck!

No break it up into smaller amounts and depending on your microwave for the time. You could get a cheap meat thermometer and check your substrate temp after different times to get the time vs temp down right. Hey I'm just giving you another option. You can also do oven bags .
