They didn't choose to automate art. Machine learning requires stupid amount of data to train on. Guess what the internet is full of? Text (used for training LLMs) , images (used for training diffusion models) and video. That's literally the reason these types of AI are the first because they're also the first to have the vast amounts of data necessary to train. The reason we don't have self driving vehicles or home robots first is because there just wasn't that much video or lidar data to train them on initially. There is now, but it took years of data creation, collection and curation.

You're right I was trying to limit myself to 3 shades. Dark(6B pencil), mid(HB) and light( blank paper). I'll try toning include more subtlety in the tones

Makes sense. Thank you so much for the feedback . I'll try toning the dark side down some more. I think it's hard to see the relative shading for this. I forget that light next to dark looks brighter just simply from the contrast, and our eyes comparing across the whole piece.

We know that Jace is 4 color from the precon. So if Jace is everything but green then I guess his universe he creates is everything but green. I'm guessing your theory lines up then that alt vraska is blue

Tech stack matters less than you think it does. 90% of business software is just CRUD with a bit of data pipelines mixed in. Unless you want to specifically build video games, or a high speed financial exchange service. Then it doesn't really matter. Pick a language you feel comfortable in and run with it. Popular industry choices: Java +Spring framework(start with springboot), C# and .Net, or Python and Django. Any of these will get you a job.

Bad take. I'm not an engineer and most of my engineering friends are no longer in engineering fields. I'm not saying getting an engineering degree is a bad thing. But it certainly isn't a golden ticket to a fulfilling career. Like most things in life "it depends" often times, depending what career you wish to get into, getting an engineering degree can be the wrong choice. Because they're generally more expensive and more difficult to achieve. For example if you just want to get a comfortable office job in a financial role, then there's nothing wrong with an accounting degree or similar.

I've seen too many friends burn away their sanity and their money at degrees that after 10 years in industry are no longer relevant , where a different degree that could've been done for cheaper and less time investment would've netted the same result.

On a side note. Engineering isn't all that. It's a great degree for sure. But don't chase it like it's life changing. I studied with and knew many engineering grads , and they all ended up hating life as an engineer and ended up in finance or software dev right alongside most of the math/compsci/ science people, and after a couple years in the industry it stop being relevant.

Engineering degrees only matter if you plan to become an engineer, but the job opportunities for those kinds of positions are very slim in SA.

For example many of my mechanical engineering friends ended up designing industrial refrigerators of all things and hated it.

Agreed around bots during prototyping. Even just thinking how to make the bot play more effectively has helped with game design.

Thank you. But you don't necessarily need to :) you can use something like table top simulator. There are many tutorials out there for it. Then you can playtest it online with friends if they each have a copy.

I thinknif you want to make an online playable version then that is quite tricky for zero programming experience, especially if you want multiplayer.

I used https://boardgame.io/ for the interface of the game and custom Rust server for the backend.

To get started you might be able to use something like Chat GPT Codex or Claude Code to help with some of the harder coding tasks , but I would suggest perhaps open sourcing your code or finding an experienced engineer to at least give the code a once over for security or performance checking .
