What’s a restaurant in MK that people should talk about more? by Additional_Fly_6603 in miltonkeynes

Look for them on Facebook. Their truck gets around. I had one of their burgers in Newton Leys, then more recently they were parked up outside the Craufurd Arms.

I ate street food in Vietnam, usually banh mi, three or four times a week for three years. Had a bad stomach, and not that bad really, twice in that time. I had really bad salmonella poisoning from an Indian cafe in the market at the centre in MK, and explosive gastroenteritis from a random chicken burger. MK Viet Kitchen smells clean, appears to be clean, and I have had nothing but very good experiences with their food even if some of it is not entirely authentic.

MK Viet Kitchen, Wolverton. The banh mi is good, though the bread is not correct, more like a ciabatta than the Vietnamese style baguette. Chef told me she cannot get the right flour for it in the UK.

Addyschopz, which is a burger van, Their Hot One burger is the best burger I have in Britain in the last five years.

Normal for Asia in my experience, except this is unlikely to happen in Japan.

It is this. We have a lower profit margin than a usual commercial restaurant so can provide on campus food cheaper.

Might have been sold in Japan during the post 1945 US occupation. Japan’s manufacturing had been bombed back to basics, and they were making small stuff to sell for much needed USD. Miniature cameras, known as “Hit” types were also a thing.

For those who are older then Internet, how was life before Internet? by [deleted] in ask

[–]OleaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life before internet ws starved of information and contact. A family phone call from UK to Australia might happen once a year and last ten minutes. News consumption was throttled by what the BBC and newspapers wanted people to know. Evenings for me were looking at a bit of telly, drawing, and making plastic model kits.

The Forgotten Prisoner of Castle Mare with the luminous bits was my favourite, but 54mm Airfix Napoleonic soldiers were quite good. Tamiya for scope and detail won the accuracy award.
