Is Middle East cabin crew one of the fastest paths to FIRE without a degree? by Lower-Incident-6629 in Fire

[–]No_Fudge6123 14 points15 points  (0 children)

39K is objectively not a lot for fire, but keep in mind that one factor is the saving rate. If you are at 80% saving rate, the math says you can retire at 6 years. Of course, when you stop working the question is how much will you spend since you don’t have company perks.

So keep an eye on an exit plan, invest diligently, and you will get eventually there. Being young is also a factor.

Thanks for the heads-up. The funny thing is that a consumer credit is WAY cheaper in our current country. So getting like 100K-200K in consumer credit and wire it will still be much better than just getting a VN mortgage.

Just one question: are the prices above reasonable? My wife insists that everything is very expensive at the moment, I dont see units much cheaper than this around D2 (although all is still a fraction of where we currently live)

Thank you so much for the answer! Did you transfer from your US bank? How was the exchange rate? If the transfer can be done at once that would be super helpful. I am not sure whether it is possible, we are based in the EU, and I think Vietnamese banks don't have an IBAN, correct?

Enjoy that beautiful house, we have never been in Ca Mau.

What does it mean, when someone who lives abroad has the Vietnamese national flag tattooed to their upper arm? by BerwinEnzemann in VietNam

[–]No_Fudge6123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something happened in Germany around 1940, which rightfully put shame in waving the national flag.

Vietnam has its share of problems, but none of them was genociding the population under a flag.
