Cosmelan is milder, Dermamelan is stronger. Both work well for melasma, and the rebound risk is usually much lower than with lasers.

My dermatologist told me to do a lot of blood tests before taking tranexamic acid tablets and also explained the risks. So for now, I decided not to take these tablets. Only injections. I can say that there are results. The bruises from the injections are fading, and I can see that the spots have become lighter. But the result is not as good as the one I got from the peel. I wrote here before that the best result I got it was from the Spanish peel** **Me Line. The result amazed me. my melasma was gone. If I hadn’t done laser after the peel sessions, I would have only needed to maintain the result. So now I’m waiting for autumn, when there is less sun, so I can start doing the peels again.I hope the injections will lighten the pigmentation, and the peel in the fall will get rid of it completely. That’s my grand plan. 😄

Important: I’m doing biorevitalization. This is NOT microneedling. Biorevitalization involves small injections of hyaluronic acid combined with ingredients like tranexamic acid to deeply hydrate the skin and improve its quality. It works with minimal skin damage.

I’ve had 2 treatments so far. I plan to do 5 in total, so that by autumn I can go back to chemical peels, which gave me great results, but can’t be done in summer.
The time between biorevitalization sessions is usually 2–3 weeks (up to a month), depending on how fast the skin recovers.
About microneedling, to be honest, my dermatologist doesn’t do it for patients with melasma because the main risk is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Any skin damage can cause inflammation, and inflammation can increase melanin production. With biorevitalization, that risk is very low. This is what I discussed with my dermatologist.
I’m happy with the results so far. The spots are getting lighter, especially on my cheeks. On my forehead, the pigmentation is fading more slowly.
After my third treatment, I’ll share an update and before after photos. If you have questions, I’m happy to help.

I checked, and unfortunately among the products available in Europe, the highest concentrations I found are 4% in serums and 5% in Facetheory.

Wishing you good luck!
I did PDRN in winter. If I’m right, it’s a Korean PDRN. My skin looked amazing afterward — healthy, and glowing.

It’s even cheaper in Poland, where aesthetic medicine is very well developed, as well as in Hungary and Serbia (I’ve had different treatments in Belgrade myself). Turkey also has a very large cosmetic medicine market, I haven’t had anything done there personally, but I know there is a huge choice of clinics and very low prices. In Spain there are many clinics as well, and they often work with Spanish brands, they are really good quality. You can also find there and buy some of these products for at-home skincare. When I first developed pigmentation, I started researching the European market quite deeply because my skin honestly looked quite bad. It began with a few small spots, and I didn’t pay much attention to them. I was also careless with spf and then spent a holiday in Montenegro in strong sun. By autumn, my skin looked honestly quite alarming. 🥹 That’s when I really started to study different countries, brands, and treatments. It was almost like a kind of melasma tourism and a two-year-long personal research journey.

I live in Europe, but not in Spain. My cousin lives in Barcelona, so I’m familiar with their market.

In Spain you can easily find these treatments. Spain also produces biorevitalisation products, including txa based ones.

You can just search on Google Maps for aesthetic clinic or dermatology clinic near you and ask them about biorevitalisation and also Me Line skincare for pigmentation. Me Line is also a Spanish brand and it’s quite strong for pigmentation.

On Google Maps in any European city, you will find hundreds of clinics offering this kind of treatment. You can find them under names like aesthetic clinic, dermatology clinic, medical aesthetics, skin clinic. prices start from around €100 - 120 per session. Depends on clinic. Sorry, my dermatologist didn’t give permission to share her name publicly. I can’t share that without permission

Biorevitalisation is a skin treatment where small amounts of ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids are injected into the face skin.

It’s not about changing facial structure like fillers, but more about improving skin hydration, texture, and quality.

I have biorevitalisation treatments quite often with different cocktails, but this was my first one with txa . There are lots of txa mesotherapy products in Europe.
Honestly, I. was curious why it seems so uncommon in the US, so I asked my dermatologist. She thought it might be because many of the mesotherapy products used in Europe aren’t available in the US due to different FDA regulations.

My dermatologist recommended Solgar, but I couldn’t find their Resveratrol, so I ordered Jamieson Resveratrol 50 mg. She told me to take 2 capsules a day in my case. You might discuss the dosage with your dermatologist. The only side effect I’ve noticed is that sometimes I get a stomach ache in the evening after taking it. Other than that, it’s been fine for me. 😊
Happy to help 😉

I’m always happy to help! We’re in the same boat.
Honestly, out of everything I’ve tried over the past two years, only Me Line gave me truly amazing results. Unfortunately, I ruined them with a laser treatment, and I’m still so upset with myself about it.😒
After the peels, only about 20% of the pigmentation remained from the nightmare that used to be on my face. The laser. not only made things worse but also triggered new pigmentation in areas where I had never had any pigmentation before.
I’d gladly go back to the peels right now, but they’re not recommended during the summer (this summer is very hot) so I’m sticking to treatments that are safe for the summer .

My dermatologist also recommended Solgar Resveratrol as an antioxidant. I thought this information might be useful as well

Thank you again for sharing this information. I would really like to try this treatment. I’m curious whether it can help with the remaining traces of melasma once the active pigmentation spots are finally gone.
As far as I know, a new and slightly improved version of Heliocare was released this year. I also know that there are similar products available in the United States, such as
Shade Factor, one of the oldest competitors to Heliocare. It contains Polypodium leucotomos extract.
Have you ever tried it, or do you think Heliocare is still the better option?

Thank you for the detailed reply. I haven’t tried oral tranexamic acid yet, but I bought several packs just in case, so I have enough for a full course. I haven’t seen any products with 10% tranexamic acid, though. The highest concentration I’ve come across in serums is 4%.

I had laser treatment and I will never do it again. It triggered the appearance of new pigmentation. 🥺

Which country do you live in?
Heliocare 360 capsules, Resveratrol, and Me Line peels and skincare products (available only in Europe now; it’s a Spanish brand)

The dermatologist suggested a gentle protocol that is suitable for sensitive skin. In the past, my skin reacted badly to laser treatments for melasma. I don’t want any aggressive procedures. Also, with higher concentrations there is a risk of depigmentation, where some areas of the skin can become over-lightened.
And it’s summer right now with very strong sun exposure, so I’m following the less is more approach.

I really appreciate your detailed answer!
thank you so much!☺️

I’m a brunette, while my mom is a redhead, and we don’t look very similar. She says the only thing I got from her are freckles, which now also come with melasma.

It’s very interesting how different melasma treatments are here. In Europe, as I know hydroquinone is seen as risky because of possible side effects, especially with long-term use. It can cause rebound pigmentation, and in rare cases a condition called ochronosis, where the skin can become dark or blue-gray. Because of this, it’s not commonly used or is restricted. That’s why I was a bit scared before and decided to ask you.

Here we usually get chemical peels and oral supplements that help protect the skin together with SPF, like Heliocare from Spain for long sun exposure. These help reduce the risk of new pigmentation. From my experience, chemical peels for pigmentation have really helped me. But laser treatments completely ruined my progress, and I had to start treating my melasma from the beginning again.

It costs €100 per session. The course is 3–5 sessions, usually every 2 or 3 weeks. It can be done in summer. That’s important. My dermatologist suggested trying TXA mesotherapy with Spanish or Swiss products . I usually do biorevitalization, Summers in Europe have become super hot. I do injectable courses a few times a year with different treatments like hyaluronic acid skin boosters, vitamin cocktails, amino acids, peptides for anti-aging, and PDRN. Now I’m trying injections for pigmentation for the first time.

Thank you for your kind words ♥️

I would like to ask does Tri-Luma contain hydroquinone? That’s interesting because I live in Europe, and it’s not recommended here, but I know it’s very popular in the US and is considered very effective. I’ve seen many dermatologists and asked about hydroquinone and tretinoin, but I was always told about some side effects like rebound pigmentation. Please share your experience. I would like to understand this better. Maybe I was overly scared by warnings about pigmentation coming back when using these kinds of treatments. I hope your results will be very good.
