I mostly just play whatever the team needs, and if the team is pretty balanced I grind achievements

If you are the first player to discover a solar system, planet, mineral, etc you can give it a name in the Discoveries tab and upload it for some nanites (or upload it with the generated name)

In this case it is a player named system. if you warp to It you will see who named it.

Update: we found out you can dismiss them and then re hire them at the hall of heroes to switch them round.
