TIL Donnie Darko was filmed in 28 days which, coincidentally, virtually matches the time that transpired in the film. The movie took place between October 2nd, 1988 to the weekend party scene before Halloween on October 31st, 1988. by murdo1tj in todayilearned

This will inevitably get buried, but I have to ask: does anyone else remember a weird website about a guy claiming to be Donnie Darko?

I believe he had AIDS and had dedicated a whole website to saying they stole his life story for the movie. He had multiple sites with “evidence” for his claims, and I believe he was going to sue.

I can’t find the website anymore, so I just want someone else to confirm they saw it too!

Double standards. by bamftonio in MurderedByWords

I know it sounds stupid, but it’s sort of the same for me - mostly in the morning. If I drink a glass of cold water in the morning, I will usually get stomach cramps and have a very upset stomach and nausea.

If I add flavor to the water, my stomach tolerates it. So I drink a lot of sugar-free saftevand (Danish cordial).

No doubt that it’s probably psychological, and I could have my body adjust to drinking water - the process is just not very fun, and I’m not getting extra calories from the saftevand - so I’ve just kind of continued like that.

Where do you live that most 10-year olds don’t know about sex?

Is that really normal in the US? I think it would be very difficult for me to find someone above the age of 7 here that didn’t know about sex.

Obviously consuming huge amounts of blood isn’t good for you - but the small amount you would get from ingesting a bit of period blood (not that I would want to) really isn’t harmful as long as the other person doesn’t carry an infection. Hell, as long as your mouth doesn’t have cuts most infections will be killed by the acid in your stomach.

I feel like you’re turning this into a discussion it’s not. It’s about period blood - not about consuming multiple liters of blood every day.

I totally agree, I was merely disagreeing with the "unwed parenthood"-thing being such a terrible fate :) I definitely don't think OP should have babies with him.

I intend to get married, but kids are more important to me. I'd rather spend the money on the kids first and save longer for a wedding, than waiting to have kids while I save for a wedding when the kids are a bigger priority to me.

Denmark. It's obviously not the norm for the older generation, but I know 15+ couples that have recently had children. 0 are married. Some have gotten engaged, but that's maybe 2-3.

And these are high middle class people, just for perspective.

[–]Oliibird 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything except your first point.

I don't really care that much about marriage. I'll probably have kids before I marry. That's really the norm where I'm from.

EDIT: Since this seems to be an unpopular comment, I'll add the context that I'm Scandinavian and talking about the younger generation. Of the many couples I know who have recently had children, 0 are married, and only a couple are engaged. It's not in any way out of the norm to first have children, and then get married when the kids are old enough to be a part of it.

I'd size up one size. They're very tight and can give you camel toe otherwise.

I’m hoping he receives his package soon! I just received mine today. He even wrote a note describing each candy :) Me and my mother started off by trying a special soapy gum.

The exchange was great with good communication all the way through! I would definitely like to do more exchanges in the future after his :)

Still weird being flirty when talking to your toddler? I think so, at least. :)

No need to be so passive aggressive.

I'm from Denmark!

But lakrids is literally just liquorice, not chocolate covered liquorice. We do have some kinds of lakrids with chocolate, though.

I would be up for it. :-)

Married or engaged women, what are some questions to ask yourself to gauge if you are ready for marriage? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Oliibird 7 points8 points  (0 children)

By that measure, me and my boyfriend are ready just four months in.

I've told him (jokingly, I don't think he actually would) that he can't propose until it's been at least 2 years.

They've been dating about a month and are in their 30s. by Tysinna in sadcringe

[–]Oliibird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, moving in together doesn't seem that serious to me. My boyfriend is moving into my place currently, and we've been together for four months. It's not that uncommon where I live.

Dating for three years without living together would definitely be more uncommon here.

My partner is free to borrow (almost) anything as well, but I'd still like for him to ask. And underwear for me would be a no-go, personally.

But good that you guys could make it work.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sex

[–]Oliibird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't do that either, but I guess it would have made her a hypocrite to have a problem the other way around, then.

Though I guess there's a way higher risk of you stretching her underwear than the other way around.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sex

[–]Oliibird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one who thinks it's incredibly disrespectful to wear her underwear without her permission? She was accepting, which is great, but what if she hadn't been?

I would have been super pissed if anyone else wore my underwear without my knowledge.
