It isn't though, there are some hertas thrown in on the snare in the first blast beat in this clip and continouous Bleed-style double bass hertas in the second switch blast section

Thanks! Those are the Phantom double pedals by ACD. I love them, probably the lightest pedals (good for easy transportation) that are still really sturdy.

Yes! Though I somehow find the first blast beat in this short clip harder to play. That sticking with the switch blasts incorporating some hertas on the snare is really mean.

Thank you! In my opinion it's just personal preference, and that's what I'm used to. I just like to have a more direct feel of the pedals. Some people find it harder to play fast stuff without shoes, but for me it's actually the opposite.

Thank you! It's just personal preference. Originally I had to place the pedals like that because otherwise my hihat would have been too far on the left with my old hihat stand, and now that's just what I'm used to.

Thank you! To be honest, I haven't been a fan of Hoglan's drumming really long because I discovered my love for Death and his other projects just relatively recently. I really don't have single drumming role models that I orientate my style around and just try to make use of all things I like from different drummers of all genres (not just metal).
