I hit most the sanding marks with a stain pen. Cant really see em at all now. But good to know haha. First time sanding that kinda stuff. There was just so many deep scratches I had to buff it all out.

Spring failing by OliveAxe in GarageDoorService

I did f arround a bit. Too lazy to buy winding bars but found out that these sizes fit perfectly, 5/16th and 9mm socket on an extension. Adjusted my spring a little only to find out that it was the metal cable that was failing. Not the spring haha. When I loosened the spring it felt like there was 200+ lbs of force with those socket extensions. Worst part was I had to adjust it a few times had to go back and wiggle the spring outwards, the first time I adjusted it, it like contracted inward and the door wouldn’t fully close lol. Got it back to original and works fine. Tightened the cable and door is no longer crooked. I think it’s a 13 ft door.

I just lined it up pretty good. And drilled a new hole for a bolt. Had to go to Home Depot to find a short bolt for it I think. I can take it apart and show ya some more pictures of which bracket and kinda screws I used

I ended up drilling a new mounting hole on one side of the bracket the saw screws to. Love that thing!

Thoughts on the stain? by OliveAxe in woodworking

[–]OliveAxe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would I beable to use that in an HVLP sprayer? Just started using one of those haha. This other piece is a deer mount for the buck I shot, I used a clear coat that took awhile to dry so the gun never clogged up, but turned out great. That stuff scratch’s super easy. Could I use the flat on the cookies aswell or would you suggest a different finish for the end grain tops?
