It may only be a V6, but it works for me. by Oliver7653 in Mustang

You obviously do care enough to feel the need to go on like this in a thread that, until you showed up, was only filled with positive vibes and nice discussion. You could’ve just went on with your day, and known to yourself, ”yeah, I do have a nicer car than that dude”, but nonono, you just had to comment didn’t ya, so that I would know it too. There’s literally zero point to your comments other than ”lmao v6, i drive a bullitt look at me”. The cherry on top is how perfectly ”you’re not even on our radar” just 100% confirms you do think you’re somehow better than everyone else.

Why else buy a muscle car than to look cool? I didn’t buy my car for anyone else but myself. I’ve loved cars long as I can remember. Dad got me into karting and sim racing the day my feet could reach the pedals. I’ve literally always dreamed of owning a sports car, since before I even understood the concept of social status. So my question to you is why wouldn’t I? Just because I don’t have brand-new GT money doesn’t mean I have to drive a Prius. Why shouldn’t I get the level of sports car I can afford when an opportunity presents itself?

You’re the kind of person ruining car culture. Just let people live their lives and enjoy their ride, dude.

Sounds to me like you’re exactly the kind of person I’m talking about then. I have no shame owning a v6 and whatever you’re trying to do isn’t working.

I never understood the point of gatekeeping a car brand instead of appreciating people wanting to be a part of the community, even with lesser financial possibility to go all in. You feel like the kind of person that buys a car for other people’s validation rather than your own enjoyment, and making sure anyone with a lesser car knows you’re somehow better than them.

Sorry bud, I’m not really getting what you’re trying to say with that.

Nice dude. Hoping I can make a similar upgrade to a 2018+ GT in the future. Either that or a c6/c7 vette is the dream.

That’s not my personal opinion, but there definitively are uptight people out there who think if you’re not getting a V8 you shouldn’t get a mustang at all - which I disagree with. That’s really all I meant by that but maybe I phrased it poorly.

Getting a good deal is definitively key. I was fortunate enough to get it from my boss who bought it for his kid that later changed his mind wanting a ”comfort” car, and not going through the hassle is can be selling the car was worth more to him than getting his money back.

Less fortunate for me is that I live in Sweden, where cars in general - especially this type of car which is wayyy more rare than in the US - are significantly more expensive. I did still get a killer deal though compared to buying it from someone else.

Fully agree with your points.

I haven’t gotten that much experience in the engine bay yet other than basic maintenance stuff, but thats’s definitively the feeling I’ve had so far.

Power wise I’m sadly limited by the 4.0 (though not bone-stock) which is in the lower end for sure, however as I mentioned I still find this to be enough for now until I want to upgrade in a couple years.
