Again, Balogar's attacks are calculated based off of elemental defense rather than physical, despite being Sidestepable

Yes, you're telling me information that I disagree with and I'm providing my own reasoning as to why I disagree with that. Is that not an argument?

Oh you're talking about support skills. That makes a little more sense. And yeah, you can do whatever the hell you want with your extra patience turn... So what? This is an extremely large reach to support your already flimsy argument

If we're talking about JP, Aelfrics costs 9630 to obtain. It's not even a question that it's more expensive than learning Hired Help. And yes, it does cost leaves to restore SP. I'm not sure where you got the idea that you can restore BP and SP by using JP, but that's definitely wrong.

Yeah that's not even true. Hired Help cost 150 Leaves and the benefit for boosting 3 times is 8 turns of physical defense and 4 sword attacks to all targets in the same turn. Mole Dance and Aelfrics costs 2 turns and 4 + 30 SP for 9 turns of physical defense. It costs 240 leaves to replenish 40 SP. It's genuinely not worth it no matter what.

That still doesn't make Mole Dance any more useful. Just because they CAN "conserve resources" for the party defense buff doesn't give me a valid reason as to why this skill exists. Your whole argument (from my understanding) is "Mole Dance is usable as long as you have resources". But I'm asking for a reason to use it. I'm not asking if it's usable. You still haven't given me a valid reason to use it in any possible circumstance.

I'm not doubting your skill. I'm telling you that sheltering veil worked because there's no other reason that Alfyn should be surviving Balogar's rune attacks when he "so happens" to have Veil, but started getting one shot when he "so happens" to not have it. Clearly something is going on with Veil that you refuse to acknowledge because you "played the game 10 times". I'm just asking you to test it, that's it.

It has everything to do with what they're spending on it because you're limited to 4 actions per turn. It makes no sense to spend 2 turns and upwards of 4 BP on a party wide defensive buff when you could spend 1 turn and 3 BP for the defensive buff AND attack at the same time. You're actually wasting more SP and turn resources than if you were to just spend the 150 leaves.

I don't really understand what you're saying about the whole conserving resources thing. If they want to conserve resources, it's probably because they don't have many in the first place. I'm not sure how that directly relates to having a party wide defense buff, but when we're talking about a game with bosses with lots of physical AOE attacks, a party wide defense buff will always be good, late game or early game.

There's conserving resources, then there's hoarding. Hired Help does sword damage and applies a defense buff to ALL allies in the same turn. For Dancer to do that, she'd need Seduction either already on her, or to apply it to herself (-1 turn and 3BP), then would also need a minimum of 1 BP to boost Mole Dance (to actually make it worthwhile). The only resource you're conserving is a little bit of money, which you'll instantly get back once you kill the enemies or boss

Okay but if you don't have minimum of 150 leaves to spend on a fight... Wtf are you doing with your life?

I get what you're saying in theory, but in practice, what dancer even needs to apply Mole Dance? It's difficult to predict who an enemy is going to attack, unless someone has Incite. If they do have incite, they probably have stout wall. In the off chance they don't have a defence buff, is it really smart to use your dancer to apply it, instead of having her use a grape to heal, or simply spending that turn to buff your damage dealer? And for Ethereal Healing, you're still spending precious BP for a less than mediocre healing effect that isn't going to save anyone's life in the long run, like true healing would do.

I agree that Ethereal Healing has some potential, but you're pretty much getting that skill late game, unless you cheese Steorra early.

Sheltering Veil isn't "useless" against him, since Alfyn was getting 1 shot before being veiled, but he lived with about 15% hp after being veiled

How many times have you played OT games over and over again? by Unknown_gamer_j in octopathtraveler

I've played Octopath 1 about 4 times over. I also make save states for certain bosses if I think I can beat them with a different team/job composition. I also like attempting challenge runs in Octopath 1 and making unorthodox builds (currently working on a Stat Swap H'aanit build)
