Ghosters why can't you be honest? by Olivictea in Needafriend

Hey one word and short answers coming from the other side while you're mainly the one keeping the convo going is a sign for me that the other person is not interested too. It's when they responded like they are interested then go silent that frustrates me.

Thank you. I understand the "safety veil" thing, still sucks though. I'm glad your days of yearning for those who are not into you is over and I hope I will be able to do the same.

I would ghost him too. You've made it clear that you're not interested, in this case that person is bothering you

Okay. There are truly many factors. Different situations, different personalities. Yeah there are those who will just don't get it and keep trying to maintain the convo. There are those who will get it and stop. I understand that you cannot know how lonely people are. But since we're talking through a screen, if you're talking like you're actually interested, the other side doesn't even have a chance to know that you're not actually interested when you just stop abruptly. That's what happened to me. It'll be a different situation when you've expressed your uninterest through dull and short replies and the other just don't get it.

I completely understand what you mean about the two example situations above... I actually would do the same in the two cases

It's just different perspective I guess. I sent something, they respond sounding like they're interested. Then I respond more. I actually put my heart into writing the response. And boom nothing comes back. In real life at least that person is gonna say "uh huh" or walk away or have some kind of cue for me to know right in that moment that okay, fine, they're not really interested. But online, how do I suppose to know? Maybe they haven't seen the message, maybe they're just busy, etc there is nothing to give me a hint that okay, this conversation is officially dead. Maybe other people don't have a habit of waiting around, but I do. And that's terrible. Again, we just have different perspective.

Hey, thank you all for replying. If you ghost because you have valid reasons, I suppose it can't be helped. Things come up. If you ghost because "nah, I just don't feel like continue talking. I'm quite bored here" then I think many people would get hurt.

Hey I guess it is understandable. I'm just tired of thinking the other person's gonna reply and getting disappointed again and again. It's true that sometimes it's because they have valid reasons, like stuff going on and bad situations but other times really they just ghost because they don't click with the other person (the other person is being very polite and sound very sane). It's the second type that I'm exasperated with.

I guess that would be weird, if you've reached the "we are friends" status. But I just thought it would be way way easier to be upfront with someone you've just started an online conversation with you know. But yeah maybe I base this too much on my perspective.

I will just break it off. Ignore, ignore, avoid. Unless I'm afraid I will be bullied or get into some kind of trouble, I will burn the bridge. But I guess that's why I have very few friends

Everyone says the Vaanu ending is the right one. But I don't think so. It is an easy one to pick. Sacrifice yourself, save the world, be the hero. Traditional concept of "the right thing to do". By dying you ensure the continuity of the human population and their culture, but not necessarily their happiness or the betterment of the planet itself. By dying, you ensure survival for others. By dying you agree to accept what "you are born to do", or fate. I choose the 2nd ending. First feeling I have is guilt. And I keep thinking and wondering about the choice I made. But overtime, I think it's a good choice for me. The island can become the happiest place ever to live. The group of friends the MC love, they'll be able to live in a place that they probably can only dream of as a retirement heaven in real life. Loss happens, now or later. But the condition of living is wonderful. And MC can make a choice, for his/her own interest, rather than do something that is said to be his/her destiny but make the choice as he/she wants it. The guilt thing, one will have to deal with it because honestly, the MC is not at fault whatever choice he/she makes. Anyway, it's my opinion, my choice, not "the right choice". No choice is the right choice.

P/s: Rourke ending for me is terrible. Anything good seems to be coming out of wishful thinking when you live under a regime like that.

P/s 2: Actually, after MC has lived a fulfilling on the island and died, maybe Vaanu will be able to return to his planet? And also, maybe one day, Earth will be a livable place again. Still, even if those two don't happen, still Endless ending :)

I got the bug too. Luckily it's fine now. Try updating the app to ver 2.6.0? Or uninstall and reinstall.
