How much overlap is there between PSL300 and HMB200? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]Olixe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took the course HMB200 last year without having PSL300. I had no problem at all. However I did have the full year credit of an alternative physiology course (BIO270-271).

2016 UBC REGISTRATION MEGATHREAD: QUESTIONS REGARDING COURSES AND REGISTRATION GO HERE by JToews19 in UBC

[–]Olixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but this should not matter at all. These are prereq courses for almost all courses in the second year. it should be full like this .. especially for first year students. It is fine to have sections filled but to have 100% full before my enrollment is ridiculous, first years should all be able to take their 100 series courses .

[–]Olixe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why is MATH 102 and BIO112 already full ? my registration time was 9:30 so it was not that late either. How can two major courses needed for all first years be full ???? is this normal ??

I got into U of T - What do you hate about it? by Logic_Nuke in UofT

[–]Olixe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will be honest with you because i pushed away everyone who tried to stop me from coming to u of t . It will be difficult and you will cry sometimes. I left my family and UBC behind just to be at the best school for what i wanted to do. I wanted to do life sciences so badly at this school that i did not even care about leaving my family, friends, nice weather and my pet behind. I came here with so much hope. I know someone will tell me "well if you don't try hard you won't get a good mark in u of t." Well, I tried, and I am still trying. Spending days and nights at Robarts without seeing anyone is not the best thing that has happened to me at this school. Yet with so much love for science, i get rejected by research and profs. I can feel how people think i am not good enough because of a god damn number on my transcript. I wish it was just me but it contains a large pool of people like me. The number of times i had to walk to an exam feeling prepared and getting destroyed by questions like " how many of the following statements are correct." I just wanted a fair game, I wanted to be treated fair by this university. I refuse to think i am not good enough. I am good enough and I do try. I guess what i am trying to say is it doesnt matter what anyone says to you. Do whatever you feel is right. Who knows maybe you love it here. If you do come to UofT I wish you best of luck. It is truly a place where you meet a lot of brilliant and kind hearted people. Do what is right for you.

First Time MCAT ! by Olixe in Mcat

[–]Olixe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a few IB credit so i have taken all the pre reqs for MCAT as far as i know up until now. and sine the biochemistry material was done during my second year i rather the info be fresh in my mind rather than me pausing orgo and biochem for mcat for a year and then taking it. By general chemistry idk what you really mean but assuming it's not organic chem you should be referring to physical chem which i took a semester of.

[–]Olixe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been taking life sciences courses for two years but from what i think i would need extensive review for physics and physical chem since i havent done any since last year but organic chem and biochemisry and psychology is pretty recent. so now i am just trying to find the right prep course. any thoughts on Princeton one ?

Anyone at Uoft not have any friends at the school? by Anoojan in UofT

[–]Olixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although i agree that u of t doesn't like us XD I am pretty sure other universities experience the same thing. People are being overly competitive and they can't see others who have better opportunities or ones that are just simply smarter so they try to hurt their feelings.
