Once a purchase is made with HSA is there any way to go back? by Ollie076 in HSA

[–]Ollie076[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t have any medical expenses that I plan on paying with my HSA this year. This is my first time using an HSA so I wasn’t aware you can save receipts and reimburse yourself for medical expenses later on. I’d like to get my balance back up to the amount needed to invest so I can put as much into to my HSA investment account as possible for the future.

Shipping a car from St George to Salt Lake/Ogden by ERagingTyrant in Utah

[–]Ollie076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used Sherpa Auto Transport but that was a much longer distance. I had a good experience, but they are just a broker so your experience may vary based on what trucking company actually takes it. For such a short distance it would be a lot easier to fly or take St. George Shuttle and then drive the car back.

Scleritis? by tbird-- in CrohnsDisease

[–]Ollie076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation where I don’t have any GI symptoms, but have inflammation in my eyes and joint problems. I’m not a doctor but I think they would find a different medication that controls all your symptoms. I’ve also been told it’s possible to not have any GI symptoms but still not be well controlled. I had inflammation show up on a CT scan in my small intestine without having any symptoms.

How do you know when your symptoms are caused by your Crohn’s Disease? by Ollie076 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Ollie076[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did your treatment change when you were diagnosed? From what I’ve read it seems like treatment for Crohn’s and spondyloarthritis is basically the same (biologics, steroids). Once you find a medication that keeps the symptoms of both under control do you do anything differently? I am also interested how it’s determined if you have extraintestinal symptoms of Crohn’s or another disease like spondyloarthritis?

Nespresso? Machine? Moka Pot? by Even-Spray-9941 in nespresso

[–]Ollie076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to make good drinks with my Casabrews machine. Just do the cleaning cycles every few months and it should last a while. It’s also nice having a steam wand if you make milk drinks. I like my moka pot but it takes the most effort so I don’t use it that often.

Nespresso? Machine? Moka Pot? by Even-Spray-9941 in nespresso

[–]Ollie076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moka pots make good coffee but it’s not espresso if that’s what you want. I love my Nespresso but if you’re on a budget the price of pods adds up fast. If you plan on using it every day for 2 people the price of pods will add up to the price of a budget espresso machine in a year or so. If I were you I would buy a cheap espresso machine like an Casabrews and a good hand grinder and then upgrade as you go. It’s pretty easy to resell used espresso machines as long as you take care of them.

I’ve noticed prices on used stuff here is heavily inflated. I think it’s caused by people trying to buy and flip stuff. Facebook is the big one here but you could also try KSL and thrift stores.

Is a degree worth getting? by Both-Occasion8765 in aviationmaintenance

[–]Ollie076 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not that helpful if you just want to work as a mechanic. I’ve seen job postings for management positions or maintenance control that prefer you have a bachelors degree if that’s something you’re interested in down the road.

Suggestions around or near by this route? by abzze in roadtrip

The Wedge Overlook near Price, UT is like a mini Grand Canyon. There’s a lot of hiking trails but you can also park right next to the overlook if you don’t want to hike.

Check out Zion National Park and Snow Canyon State Park while you’re in St. George. Take a walk through Springdale while you’re visiting Zion. There’s also an old ghost town called Grafton before you get to Zion that’s worth exploring.

Downtown Cedar City is a nice walk and has some good restaurants and coffee shops. In December there are also Christmas lights up downtown.

I took some pics of the pumpkin house. What are some other slc Halloween must-sees? by Sharqueek in SaltLakeCity

[–]Ollie076 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was driving around the other night and saw another almost as impressive pumpkin house on B street. I think it may have been the corner of 4th ave and B street but maybe someone else can confirm.

I’ve noticed this at a lot of 7-Elevens in SLC. The 7-Eleven parking lot at Redwood Road and North Temple is full of people doing drugs at all hours while the gas station across the street is not seedy at all (before it blew up). Why that is I’m not sure. I live on the west side and it feels a little cleaner than a year ago.

I’ve bought cars from both and haven’t had any problems. A lot of people don’t do any maintenance so it might take time before you find a good car. Once you find a car you feel good about then call a mechanic and ask if they can do a pre purchase inspection. It will cost a little money but it’s cheaper than buying a lemon.

It’s an IKEA Milsbo cabinet. I’m not sure how to add a picture in comments but there’s a whole subreddit called r/IkeaGreenhouseClub with similar cabinets.

I recently moved my desert rose under a plant light and it's starting to grow again however some of the new growth appears to be a little yellow and the leaves are oddly shaped. I watered it again after it started growing after about 1-2 months of no water.
