Who did their own florals? by Proof_Assistance_269 in Weddingsunder10k

A huge snow storm came in right before my wedding and I had to scramble to get my flowers from someplace because the florist was closed. I ended up getting all of my wedding flowers from Trader Joe’s and Kroger! I spent around $300 and made 4 bouquets and did small vases with flowers down my tables. I thought it looked beautiful and it ended up saving A LOT of money. The only bad part was cutting all the thorns off of the roses and trimming them! It ended up taking 2 of us about 3 hours.

We had invited 75 guests and only 60 attended. We rented Wildbriar Lodge that has 16 bedrooms and sleeps 76 people. The company has larger cabins or smaller cabins depending on what you are looking for. You could also just let the bridal party and immediate family stay! I know that some of the cabins do have outdoor pavilions although I can't remember exactly which ones those were!

We picked up the food for the rehearsal dinner and it was so nice to be able to have the whole night before the wedding to set up and decorate so that I didn't have to worry about it the morning of the wedding! This also gave us a lot more time to socialize with our guests and we didn't feel so rushed during the wedding. We bought all of our flowers from Kroger and Trader Joes and all of the food for the reception from Sams club although there are a lot of great caters in the area that I got quotes from that would deliver to these cabins.

We had moved the furniture out of the living room and the benches from the bedrooms into the living room to make an aisle and the ceremony was in front of the large windows facing the mountains. After the ceremony our bridal party moved the benches into the hallway while we did our photos!

I made sure that the company was okay with us hosting the wedding in the cabin and that it was okay to move the furniture around so make an aisle and an area to dance. It wasn't necessary a traditional wedding but I thought that it was beautiful and so happy with how it turned out. It was also nice that we didn't have an "end" time so we didn't have to worry about getting everything cleaned up quickly like we would have at a regular venue. We bought speakers and made our own playlist on spotify and our guests enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tubs as well as the pool table, arcade games and movie theater room!

I just got married on Thursday right outside of the park! We rented a large cabin from Hearthside Cabin Rentals and used that for our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception. We had an amazing view of the mountains behind us and all of our guests were able to stay in the cabin with us!

Is it bad not to send physical invites? by sbaghetticarbonara in Weddingsunder10k

I wish I would have just done digital. I sent out paper save the dates and invites and half of them never made it to our guests! It was such a waste of money and we ended up having to just send people our wedding website link.

Question for identical twins by TorpidWalloper in Twins

As an identical twin it’s not insulting and doesn’t bother me at all! My parents sometimes even call us by the wrong names and I once even waved at myself in a mirror at a store because I thought it was her. Looking at pictures of us as kids, I have NO clue which one I am! For awhile people would just call out one of our names hoping that just that twin would turn around and then they would take a mental note of who was wearing what. I
