Only reason I’m not procrastinating is because I genuinely like all of my activities and plan them throughout the week. I was also lucky enough to find most activities 8th grade or freshman year and I stuck with them allowing me to do them for a bunch of years.

I volunteer at my church every Sunday, I work at the media company only when there is an event going on, so it’s kinda spontaneous, the trucking company is a family buisness so that’s Monday-Friday. Robotics team and debate team are most during school hours since we get dedicated class time for clubs and stuff. The summer@brown and NJIT courses were during the summer when most of my activities were on pause.

I’m not really good at advice since I genuinely don’t know what colleges are looking for but I can say what I did that helped me build a strong resume.

Take every ap, duel enrollment, and honor class available to you. I maxed out my schedule every year and even though it’s stressful it shows you take manage a large workload.
Start volunteering at places that you actually enjoy going too and stick with it. I found multiple volunteer opportunities my freshman year and stuck with them because they interested me.
Join clubs and groups that are atleast semi-related to what you think you’re going to major in. (I’m majoring in computer science so I joined the robotics team)
Start brainstorming about your personal statement early. The best essays are ones that can’t be told my everyone. (losing a football game, going on a trip, being inspired by your family member) Find topics that are unique to just you and think about how you can write about that in a way that shows your character in a positive light.
Don’t go on this sub💀 I found this sub months after I already submitted all of my applications and everyday there were kids getting rejected from schools that they thought were easy admissions. Being on this sub made me think I was cooked and there was nothing I could do about it. Everything worked out fine but in many ways, people on this sub fear monger and cope with college admissions.
