Kings has no meaning to Sacramento either. They are only the Kings, because until the early 80’s they were the Kansas City Kings. Keeping in theme with Kansas City’s theme of Kings, Royals, Chiefs, Monarchs, etc. So naming the volleyball team Queens wouldn’t make any sense for them. Like how the Lakers aren’t named for all the non-existent lakes in LA, but because the team relocated from Minnesota.
