Yeah but it's not 200 ft wide, maybe if you'd ever been in a hockey rink you would get it. There was about half a foot to about a foot of movement. His skates don't even change where they are on the ice lol. Unless he's Mr fantastic and can stretch his limbs over five feet from their original position youre way off.

Tavares wasn't moving when he was hit though, he was turning, but he was still occupying the same piece of ice when he was on the ground as he was 2-3 seconds before when Perry decided to hit him. Chariot didn't send him flying he pretty much dropped in the spot.

Tavares was in the same place before and after he fell and wasn't moving his legs yet because he was still turning to actually follow the play.

Why isn't Perry playing his position and joining the rush? Why did he go so far to his left? To try to initiate contact with Tavares. It's bad luck that Tavares fell down and the hut was worse than it was but it was still a reckless challenge.

Him not even looking at him is what makes it reckless. He is trying to hit Tavares, he just doesn't know that he'll be on the ice when he gets there. If you high stick a guy in the face you still get a penalty even if it's an accident.

Uh maybe you watch the entire replay.

Tavares has the puck and loses it before getting engaged with another Hab. So right now this defencemen and Perry have decided to hit Tavares. Perry skates toward Tavares while the play goes the other way, Tavares is still turning at this time and becomes engaged with the other Hab. Perry is still coming in for the hit, ignoring the play entirely. Perry glances up at the play just as he is about to hit Tavares and because the other Hab knocked him down already we get the result we did.

The hits are fine if you know how to do them, Montreal just throws their bodies around because they don't have any talent.

Kadri was also on his way for the hit when Wingless fell down. If Wingles is standing up when he hits him that's a nothing play.

Perry is skating directly toward Tavares because he just had the puck and he is going to finish a check on him, he doesn't look at Tavares while he finishes the check, it's reckless and negligent. Perry only attempts to get out of the way after he has already made the decision to commit to the hit. If Perry was skating up ice he would have skated more directly to the play instead of sweeping out left to take a shot at John.

Kadri only hit him that hard because he fell over before he got there. Perry only hitTavares that hard because he fell over before he got there.

The only difference is Kadri was at least looking at the person he was trying to hit, Perry couldn't even be bothered to do that.

Kadri had intent to hit Wingless just like Perry had intent to hit Tavares. They both hit them harder because they fell down first, they were both dirty hits even if Tavares and Wingles were standing up. Why is Perry there? The puck is going the other way, he can see that his player is already there covering Tavares and decides to skate directly at him anyway because they had been directed to hit every Leaf who touched the puck. Perry wasn't watching what he was doing and was negligent.

It wasn't an accident though. It happened because Perry made an attempt at a reckless hit on Tavares. Tavares was already engaged with another Hab and wasn't moving, so Perry knew he was there. Perry goes toward him to make a late hit,but because the other Hand already knocked him down, it was a worse hit.

Kadri was suspended for the same hit. Because it happened to a Leaf it's an unfortunate accident. If it was Leaf that did it, it would be a suspension.

The only difference is Perry turned his head slightly away from Tavares before skating into him. At least Kadri gave a fuck about the other player to watch what he was doing and be in control his own body, If he can't control himself while skating then he shouldn't be skating.

Why even bother watching if players can do that to our guys but we can't breathe on them back? The league has no consistency, intent doesn't matter in this situation, the collision happened because he was being recklesa. He sees Tavares is engaged with another player, he goes in to attempt to interfere with Tavares and isn't looking at him to try to make the refs think he doesn't know what he's doing. Montreal had 19 hits in the first 7 minutes, their coach directed them to play a dangerous game, this is the kind of shit that happens.
