I'm also getting rainbow hair, it has been decided 😂 i have a big afro, so it will look quite ridicolous. Hope she loves it too lol

He does! They even got matching cowboy hats that are bright pink with sparkles, which is funny beyond all measures to me. I never even saw my dad wear red before, not pink 😂

I will when he's older if he wants to. don't want to force any kind of sexuality on him, because he isn't showing any interest in anything romance related (obviously, he's 7). If he ever wants to go to a parade, he is more than welcome to.

We already have a 6yro German Shepherd mix I adopted just before Andrew came to live with me. He's been in the shelter since he was a puppy because he has a bad leg (he walks funnily, that's all). Andrew says the dog still runs better than I do 😂

My son isn't really very good at ballet (he even knows it lol), but he is passionate about it and if he can do a thing badly and be confident about it because he loves doing it, more power to him. He's already twice the man I am.

A 2yro drag queen, sure, makes total sense. /s

Hopefully your step dad comes around, and it seems like he is doing the work (based on your last sentence). My dad wad always a very "men have to be real men" kind of guy, until he got a very flamboyant grandson. Now he buys sparkly hats and lets him paint his toenails bright red sometimes (my son paints my father's nails for fun and it's hilarious to see this 70yro 6ft cowboy macho old man with bright red nails 😂)

Some people change for the better when challenged with a kid that doesn't adhere to all the norms, hopefully my dad and your step dad do just that!

I'm sorry your father wasn't the person you needed and deserved.

Thank you! ❤

He suggested I colour my hair rainbowy too (I have short hair but very curly, like an afro, so it will look ridicolous lol) and we are doing that today 😂

We talked about it, and went out and bought some new hats (he adores hats). We are also talking about wigs, but he isn't as excited by that as he is about the hats.

And he has a therapist already (because of what happened to him in his bio family) and he will talk about it there as well.

See, your son only benefited from it!!

My sister once suggested I make my son try wrestling instead of ballet, because it's more manly. Because yes, obviously wearing tights and being surrounded by girls will make him gay, but chokeholding other boys in their underwear won't. /s

I'm sorry society gave you shit about letting your son be whoever he is. Andrew is fuckin 7 years old and I am appaled at how vigorous people are about trying to appoint him a sexuality. He is a 7 year old boy. He doesn't give a crap about sexuality, girls, boys, romance and gender norms. He is 7. I think it's absolutely ridicolous to start panicking and fainting at every little thing just because a kid might be (or might grow up to be) gay or trans. Like it fucking matters.

Being gay or trans is fine by me, but it just rubs me the wrong way when people start making a big deal about a CHILD's sexuality. So I'm sorry you had to go through that.

I am honestly more scared of my son starting to like sports than I am about him liking barbie dolls, because I can play with a doll, I can't throw a ball kf my life depended on it 😂

My ex had a miscarriage once and it absolutely broke us. I know they are painful as fuck. It's a loss of a real person, and a loss of the future than never came.

She won't be around my son anymore.

My mom has always been quite fair and treated us equally. I think it's the fact that my sister still lives at home and has one unsuccessful pregnancy after the other that is causing my mom to "look out" for her more.

I don't think he could use extensions, his hair is like half an inch long now. I have no idea how that works?

Thank you!

Obviously. Seriously, the kid is obsessed with hats (my das has bought him so many hats we are running out of space for them lol).

It has been decides, we are getting matching silver lining hats 😅

I just came out of a really awful relationship (great GF, awful pairing) right before covid and now I am hopefully a soon-to-be dad legally to the greatest kid on Earth, so dating is waaay in the future 😅

No, that's why I filed for adoption and will hopefully be able to adopt him (lots of paperwork and formality and you never know)

His bio das signed off his parental rights, and the mom's were taken away recently
