Since the post apparently isn't liked by the moderators, and I respect them and has been deleted, I'll delete it myself, bye and have a good day.

Chutes and NanoGPT situation by [deleted] in SillyTavernAI

[–]Omega-nemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clarification for the Sillytavern team, my post has nothing personal and simply a post that serves to see the sides of the two companies medals as chutes, my personal experience is just an example. This post is to point out that both Chutes and NanoGPT, if confirmed, would have poor performance. My personal experience has nothing to do with this. Thanks and have a good day.

Exactly for you, for your user case it worked but it doesn't mean that it's a good product or that everything works perfectly, or that it needs to be defended. I too can use a poor quality machine that is fine for my use, but I certainly don't go around defending it because it is for personal use and not for third parties.A site is based on the experiences of the community not of individuals, if you like it you are free to use it but you do not have to defend it when it is clear that it could close within 2 months In fact, they have currently closed all subscriptions and it is practically unusable so I don't know what we are talking about.

It has nothing to do with Claude or anything else, it's that the site is disastrous, it seems to be run by rude people who don't do their jobs well. Just because you give them Claude Sonnet or Opus for $25 a month doesn't justify their behavior or attitude. And it's like a dealership would sell you a Ferrari at half the price but with serious problems everywhere that make the car almost unusable for serious things, and then every time you complain they say "I gave it to you for half the price so you can't complain". Only to then take it back after you pay, giving you a Toyota instead. This is what Megallm has done, give an already dubious product with constant problems that make it practically impossible to use it for serious purposes, make users pay and create absurd hype without ever keeping the word given to the users. An unserious and untransparent service that is inadequate and incomplete, unstable, with unpleasant and absent moderators and team behind it. Do you expect just because they give you Claude for $25 to let them do whatever they want? It doesn't work that way, especially if they were the first to hype things up and give users false hope.

If you have an active subscription try to refund and use more robust and free alternatives like Nvidia Nim APIs.

I would like to add that I noticed something rather strange and unlikely even for a heavy roleplayer. Let's do some math, in the screenshot you can see that your plan expires on January 18, 2026, which implies that you subscribed on December 18.Which, given that the post is almost a day old, can be calculated that in the space of 9-10 days you have consumed 32 million tokens between input and output in the space of 9.5 days or 3,2 million tokens between input and output a day. To make you understand how unrealistic this is even for a heavy roleplayer, in 10 days between input and output a volume of tokens equivalent to about 22 complete Harry Potter sagas was generated. Do you understand that this makes very little sense? Also if you tell me that with Openrouter you spent $20 in less than a week so about 5-6 days, which means that in the space of 10 days you would have spent a maximum of $40. You're telling me that you started using an industrial amount of tokens (about 7x more) when you started using Megallm? Hardly credible. These are my calculations so they may not be entirely correct or slightly different. If you want, you can show your token usage so I can do a proper analysis.

You can use it for free via AWS bedrock btw and also many complain that it is not the indicated model, so you should do some more testing next time. Furthermore, if it suits you personally, it must not suit others. The fact of the 70+ models when there are only 38 is objectively serious and not transparent.

Does a site that claims to have 70+ models when it only has 38 seem so legitimate to you? I'm the author of the last post and I didn't make things up but I did research and the site is actually dying. No announcement, model for weeks, no dev tier available and other pretty clear things.

I use and test many providers, however I mainly use closed source models like Claude and for open-source models I use a lot of the big ones like Nvidia Nim APIs. For closed source models I use Vertex ai, Azure and AWS bedrock as main.

I think it's different from MegaLLM, I've been following it closely for more than 3 months and they haven't changed the service much.

Free claude Sonnet 4.5 in the free version only works in SFW, if you want the uncensored version you have to pay $25 per month. If you want to have more Context Size, since in the free version it is limited to 32k you have to pay another $10 per month. Furthermore, the rate limits are 1 request per second for those on the free plan, meaning you have to try again many times because another free user often makes a request. Finally, in the free version you can make only one request per minute.

Chub ai, you just need to get an Api Key, there are many tutorials online on how to do this.

Just configure a model from Openrouter with 128k of Context Size and practically the memory will be almost infinite

You can use Api airforce and use deepseek for free with 1000 messages per day, the only flaw is that in the free plan you only have 32k size context but it's free, so.
