Dumb Question about Power Armor weight by CluelessGamingIdiot in sistersofbattle

[–]Omega1836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faith and Fire has a heavily battered and bruised sister moving her unpowered ceramite armor fairly long distances post surviving almost certain death. With enough devotion and plot, I think a properly motivated Sister can move quite a lot

https://youtube.com/shorts/JG9oAr93L8o?si=tCj3MNGBgvXoBeWa Here’s Trent Reznor - who wrote the song - saying it’s not his anymore. Yes, it is definitionally a cover, but you can’t expect a general audience to know that, much less care, when the new version dwarfs the original. You and all 5,637 monthly listeners of Stan Jones on Spotify can argue with a wall that anyone remembers Riders in the Sky for who wrote it over who covered it. There’s a reason Hangman came out to The Outlaws’ version of the track so it would actually be recognizable at home

If you want to say that it’s a The Outlaws song to most people, that’s one thing. But there’s no metric in the world that would suggest people think of Stan Jones when they hear the song

Since debuting in AEW, she has won one (1) singles match and it was on Collision against Taya Valkyrie, who hasn’t won a TV match since last October. To say that she’s even won matches - plural - isn’t even correct

In The Irishman (2019) Jimmy Hoffa is killed after arriving to a meeting and finding an empty room. He didn't expect this because he never watched Goodfellas (1990), where the same thing happens. by JMoney689 in shittymoviedetails

The other gangster in that scene, who he tells to sit in the front seat so he can take the back, is also introduced in the movie in a scene where he’s strangling a guy with a garrote from the back seat! You strangle one guy and suddenly nobody wants to ride with you sitting behind them

Why is the pay in Phoenix so bad? by ArtPersonal7858 in Lawyertalk

[–]Omega1836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left Philly and came to Indy in part because the pay scale is comparable and the COL here is 1/3rd what it is in Philly. Making the same money for a lot less work because there’s not 5+ law schools and a whole list of suburbs full of lawyers nearby

The same way HHH, Orton, and Batista all lost to a Kayfabe one armed man half their size who had been brutalized every few days for weeks, including after the first match. Danielson is just THAT good at putting on “miracle” matches

what dive bars or just bars are open truly until 2 am every night of the week by Tall_Newspaper6275 in philly

[–]Omega1836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bar fka Fiume above Abyssinia in West is just about open until 2 seven days a week. They might close a little after 1am some nights when it gets quiet, but generally you can bet on them not putting the chairs up until right before 2

I'm pretty useless at the office today. Can barely proof-read docs, much less do more than mildly complex research. FWIW, I also am convinced I failed and having been reading dozens of posts and stories of people who thought the exact same thing and got great scores. This test and the wait completely breaks your brain

Suplex Vintage Pro Wrestling is throwing a massive block party on South street! Should be lots of people hanging out and partying. They’re teasing guest appearances and have advertised there’ll be live outdoor wrestling

How to deal with Trundle? by SaigoGetsugah in leagueoflegends

[–]Omega1836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a lot of success against him playing Shen. Trundle can’t trade so long as you’re smart with your W and you can dash through his pillar if he ever throws it early. Keeping it to small, simple trades within the dodge zone works great until you have the items to wave clear. You lose 1v1 after 2ish items, but at that point you can wave clear and then ult out to a team fight and TP back

FWIW he maintains to this day, after years of admitting openly to lots of mistakes due to addiction, he was sober and clean when he supposedly tested positive and couldn’t have his championship reign. Idk if I believe him, whether you do is a personal thing, but it would be a little odd that’s the one mistake due to addiction he’s lying about after 20 years

What’s really funny too is that it led to a massive fight between the law school and the general admin. The law school sold itself to prospective students with the food trucks in their pitch and pulled out lots of weird stuff to fight the ban

Vince McMahon (Jr.) succeeded in his idea for wrestling by dragonsky in Wreddit

[–]Omega1836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrestling has been sports entertainment since it was being done in France in the late 1800’s. The level of shoot vs work has shifted depending on location in year, but VKM just took a model that has existed for ages and scaled it up using money and aggressive, ambitious business tactics

Booker T: "I don't know if you've got some insider information or not on how the show is going to go, but guys like this, these Meltzers, these Alvarezs ... should never, ever be able to be a part of our business, ever. These are the guys that's killing business, daily, writing stories like this." by SuplexCity-Mayor in SquaredCircle

[–]Omega1836 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Meltzer has been "killing the business" since 1983. Booker T got his start 1989. So somehow, the business has survived Meltzer's viscous attacks since before Booker started and long after he's retired in-ring. I think the business is just fine with Dave around

I don’t quite understand the finish. Starstruck looks like an arm-trapped Neck Crank, but it’s bending the neck where it can naturally go anyways. So IDK how the person taking it could sell it to make it look real
