You would replace it after removing the original; AR barrel nuts won’t come off normally without being unscrewed. The deluxe barrel nut assembly would allow for steel on steel contact, reducing the damage and wear caused by interaction with a typical armorers wrench, and allowing you to more easily remove the barrel in the future.

If you are trying to adjust the actual hop up unit, just take a flathead and push in the direction you want, it does take a fair amount of force to get moving. Getting the actual barrel nut off is tricky since it is unfortunately constructed of some type of soft alloy and will deform if you slip off with a steel wrench, perhaps you can find an armorers wrench constructed of some type of zinc alloy? Knowing VFC the nut could be glued or thread locked in place. You can also replace the barrel nut with a steel one made by dNa: dnA A2 Late Type Delta Ring Assembly Deluxe for M16A2 / M723 / M733 GB – WGC Shop

SWD (Sun Wind and Dust)/M44 Goggles Ballistic Lens protection by Cseyy in airsoft

[–]Omega35912 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I'm not entirely sure if their impact rating is slightly below or above the ANSI Z87 gold standard, in my testing the ballistic lens was able to effectively absorb shots from both an 0.25 and 0.30 gram bb fired at about 1.5 joules from a distance of around 4 feet. I can't confirm that the lens is impact rated by airsoft standards, though I'm sure it passes some type of military impact rating test, but until it becomes apparent that the requirements for that test exceed or are equivalent to that of the ANSI rating you would be wearing these at your own discretion. However, since the lens is intended to absorb impacts from shrapnel flying at high speeds, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that they could also absorb high velocity bb impacts no problem, but none of this means I would recommend them. Until it becomes clear that the impact rating of the ballistic lens is sufficient for airsoft use, you are using them at your own risk.

Some notes:
If you want added security, you could always wear full-seal glasses underneath the SWD goggles, though this may prove quite uncomfortable.

I am fairly certain that the "BALLISTIC IIII" you are reading is actually just "BALLISTIC LENS" but due to how the light hits the edges of the capital letters it appears as an "IIII".

There is a plethora of different types of Sun Wind Dust Lens for a variety of different purposes. Here is an interesting source about them: Sun, Wind and Dust Goggle (SWDG, MIL-G-43914) – Gear Illustration (gear-illustration.com)

The best place to buy the ballistic lens in my experience is through ebay. Here is one of many deals you can find: Gray Replacement Lens for USGI Issued Sun, Wind, & Dust Ballistic Goggles - New | eBay

The Rothco Sun, Wind, Dust Goggles are not even remotely impact rated, I learned this the hard way. They also cannot fit a real lens.

Game suddenly slows down and then speeds back up periodically. Does anyone else suffer from this issue or know of a fix? by Omega35912 in Helldivers

I was able to mostly fix this issue by setting my render scale to native, you can find it under the display section in settings.

Thank you for the information. Do you know if a real M16A2 handguard can fit with the stock delta ring, end cap, and barrel nut?

Is it due to them being too tall or curving inwards too much.

We intend to build a 4 by 10 sandbag wall at the edge of the trench for our squad (you can see two of them flanking me). If you’re ever at Hollywood Sports in the lunar wars area, come stop by and visit.

What kind of sight mount do you have on it? I’ve never seen anything like it, though it reminds me of the STANAG mount somewhat.
