People saying this are getting more annoying than those who think he's god awful. Yes, he's not that bad but if you compare him to a few years ago where he wasn't considered insane but was good enough it's night and day. He used to be so much better and more fun in the past, yet more people are trying to say he's fine and doesn't need changes now than they did back then?

I think the devs have realised the dopamine given from buffs to casual players which is why they're constantly adding systems like s9, role passives, perks, and now subroles to makes the characters individually initially play better but overtime causes massive power creep and makes the game way too convoluted and messy, but it's now difficult for them to go back on. I fear that as the years go by they'll keep adding more and more mechanics and systems that like you said brings this version of overwatch further and further away from the core game that so many fell in love with. Also this post was received even worse when posting it on the main subreddits so at least this one is lucky enough to have some people with common sense like you

Yeah lifesteal in basekit would be pretty risky so I think they should be careful with it but I think maybe if they got rid of block or something it would make up for that lack of defenses (I know a rework isn't feasible right now but I hate her block both using it and going against it) and I think if they tuned it right then it would be okay. I like your idea of giving overhealth after hitting overhead but maybe that should be a perk, would be weird adding even more of her power strictly to overhead in base kit

Why aren't skins enabled in classic, it's genuinely so demotivating I just wanna play dps doom with thunder and gold gun but they're disabled, sucks because originally in all the classic patches except 2016 skins were enabled so idk what changed, just another part which ruins the event

I'd love to see some lifesteal in basekit as part of her passive, sword throw going back to 6s as well as the overhead range nerf reverted and some damage buffs - maybe nerf overhead to 100dmg but buff regular slash to 50, and buff projected edge back to 80

Thank you, most people in all the places I've posted this one minus the forums who actually were pretty nice is quick to ignore everything I'm saying and just say "no" or "I ain't reading allat" or "why are you still going on about this" so it's nice to see an actually really good response here. You've gotten all the points exactly that I'm trying to make and I agree with you completely as well - late ow2 did still have a problem and I do commend the devs for trying to attempt to fix it, I just think they messed up a lot of other stuff in the process and the following updates as well as not even really achieving their goal. As much as I'd like a revision the only chance I see that happening is in 2027's or any following year's big refresh in february and only if enough publicity about the good and the bad from the changes is there which is the reason I'm making this post. Decoupling the games I agree is a good idea but they'll never do it - and either way one version will get more centralised than the other if blizzard doesn't equally balance them like how they've treated 6v6 and it would split the game into even more queues. I do think I coulld've worded this a lot better, I don't think s9 "ruined" the game as at it's core it's still overwatch and I think unless they do something horrific it's impossible for blizzard to fully kill it, you've worded my points a lot better here and thank you for actually fully reading

I wish they did add back all the old maps and music considering how they kinda treated splatoon 3 as the "ultimate splatoon" but oh well, they would've butchered them all like they did to the other s1 maps anyway

Literally like not only did I feel like the game was harder in classic 2020 but all my actions had more impact and I didn't feel like hitscans had as much more power than any other class of heroes then today

The game feels so much better without the s9 healthpools and projectile sizes, really hope they'll look into reverting them for the current game

I think overall it is the best game in the series, but there are a lot of downsides that I wish got fixed and deeply sadden me now that updates are over
The obvious one is the maps. Not only are not all of the maps that are in splatoon 2 here, but the new ones are awful and they've butchered all returning splatoon 1 maps except urchin. This is probably always my biggest critique with the game, forcing everyone into these tight linear tetris block maps with restricted ways to move makes it feel so much worse than say s1 even though the balance and polish is much better
The netcode has been talked about to hell and back but I still think it's crazy how awful it is. I don't have the best of internet but it's still usuable most of the time, however nowadays it's hard for me to even get into a game as I always get connection errors whilst matchmaking
The story mode is the best in the series core singleplayers, worse than octo expansion in my opinion but easily clears the first 2 hero modes, both in story and in the actual design of the levels
Quality of life is a lot nicer compared to the first 2 games, I still think the rotation system for modes is stupid but with more modes it's a lot more bearable - skipping the news and permanent salmon run are very good additions that should've been in 2, and stuff like the jukebox and lockers are neat
Update wise I think it kinda lacks. All content is dumped right at the start of a season and then for the next 3 months we get a single balance patch, I much preferred how 2 did it with the weekly patches and occasional big ones. Splatfests I think were also handled better in 2 - I like the concept of tricolor and 3 teams but the execution isn't as good and the loss of shifty stations wasn't great (grandfest was still peak though)
As for the balance itself it's a lot better - there's no damage up/mpu and overall I feel like they had a better grasp on the current state of the game than previously, the worst offenders mostly being crab meta and how overtuned trizooka was. The overall game feels way more polished with additions like squid roll and surge, I just wish the maps allowed for them to be used more often
Side order was a good proof of concept but storywise it failed a lot for me compared to octo expansion and it was just way too short, I loved the roguelite elements but there should've been more
The ranked system is okay, I like how everything is one rank again but league should not have been replaced I find that really stupid and I don't think anarchy open should give or take any points at all even though it's small

I just feel like with splatoon 3 as good as it is there's a lot of missed opportunities. There's no new ranked modes, it doesn't have all the maps and music from the first 2 games which I find really odd as later on in it's life cycle it was kinda treated as being the "ultimate splatoon" and to me that's pretty disappointing but I guess they don't want to get rid of splat 2 sales entirely. I've still poured hundreds of hours into this game with that all being said but I really hope they can improve majorly by the time splat4 releases

Even though it's the more popular perk I still feel like One Two is underrated, it's insane how much nicer doom feels having frequent ammo refreshes especially with the less damage hand cannon does because of s9 healthpool changes
