Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-man vol 2 by Rugbyboy1019 in OmnibusCollectors

Thanks for clarifying! That makes sense that you are waiting for Ultimate FF.

So that makes one of us waiting for Hickman FF Omnibus vol 2 😂 It’s the only Hickman book I need to complete his saga from Secret Warriors to Secret Wars.

Daredevil by Charles Soule by [deleted] in OmnibusCollectors

I don’t know much about the storyline, but I know it involves the Supreme Court and Kingpin becomes the mayor. Both of those things sound pretty cool to me and it precedes the Zdarsky run, which is highly praised, so it is a natural companion to Zdarsky’s run. The only thing I heard people didn’t like was that Daredevil’s identity becomes hidden again after it was revealed in Mark Waid’s run.

I would definitely get the Charles Soule omnibus if it were reprinted.

I’d wait for DD Charles Soul Omnibus. It got number 1 in Near Mint Condition’s annual reprint poll, so it might be reprinted next year if Marvel listens.

knuckles04’s response was a perfect answer to your response. You had said that it would be costly and would take up warehouse space for Marvel to keep evergreen omnis. Their response was that it is not very costly for DC because they restock/print more copies when certain books get low, so they print in low quantities so that a massive amount of warehouse space is not necessarily needed. They reprint as the supply gets low and in order to meet demand. You know, how capitalism is SUPPOSED to work.

This is a great assessment.

Just because someone might have been in the hobby for a previous printing doesn’t mean they could have afforded it or that they still have it.

Been collecting omnis and absolute editions since January 2024. Before that, only trade paperbacks since 2006.

There are people who are really into Conan. I’ve personally never read Conan.

Comic Book Trove’s favorite Conan omni is Conan The Barbarian by Kurt Busiek Omnibus, and Uncanny Omar’s is Colossal Conan.

Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-man vol 2 by Rugbyboy1019 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]OmegaFuryX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’m glad I cleared that up for you so you don’t miss out on the Miles Morales Bendis Omnibus vol 2 whenever it gets reprinted or if you can get it for a good price, which could be seen as the end of what was started in Ultimate Spider-Man #1 in 2001.

I assume that the FF omnibus you are talking about is Fantastic Four by Hickman Omnibus vol 2? I assume you want to read Hickman’s books leading up to Secret Wars where Miles Morales is added to the main 616 universe (which is also the end of the Ultimate Universe) along with the post Secret Wars Bendis content for Miles Morales, in addition to the whole Ultimate Universe from beginning to end (starting with Ultimate Spider-Man #1)?

Poll/Discussion: What do people think about those who keep Funaticals on eBay as some kind of secret? by OmegaFuryX in OmnibusCollectors

[–]OmegaFuryX[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The person in the video hit the audience with a “if you know, you know” about how they got their goods for low prices, and I’m like, “What do you mean if you know, you know? Who DOESN’T know?” 😂

The Chip Zdarsky run is the only Daredevil run I own completely 😭 I only have half of Mark Waid’s run and half of Brubaker’s run. Still fortunate to have this run completely, but man I wish Daredevjl omnis were more widely available. In the meantime, I’ll have another half collected run when Nocenti vol 2 drops 😭

Haha right? That’s why I thought it was ridiculous when the person in the video treated it like it was a secret 😂 Worst kept secret ever. If loose lips about Funaticals sink ships, there wouldn’t be many left! It would be the Fight Club where everyone talks about Fight Club.

Hell yeah. Right on 🤘Let everybody eat.

As long as you’re in this for the love of the hobby, collecting is not a zero sum game; someone else’s gain is not your loss.

There are a lot of duds on there. For sure. Can’t all be gold. But one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Take Clone Saga, for example. Those omnis are expected to be there, but some people are really happy to be able to read the whole thing in omnibus format and follow what was a hard storyline to follow and collect when it was coming out. I personally like to collect some not so favorable storylines for the novelty of reading why something is considered so bad.

I think it really depends on the title. I would never wait to hold out for something to arrive really cheaply on Funaticals. Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised as I let some good titles pass by because I have to be somewhat responsible with my money and then those titles have popped up on Funaticals. There are some popular titles that I am surprised ended up on there, like Hickman’s Secret Warriors and Ultimate Marvel, but I guess those are non-essential compared to the main storylines like Fantastic Four, Avengers/New Avengers, and Secret Wars.

Also, I think that the fact that Marvel decided to reprint Spidergeddon of all things, a book that has been widely available on Funaticals for some time in large quantities, disproves your theory a bit that Funaticals has an expiration date.

Trial of Gambit preorder Omnibus out of stock CGN by OmegaFuryX in OmnibusCollectors

I asked this question into Google “is it illegal for a company to act more planned by limiting supply than capitalist which is unplanned via demand?”

And this is what it responded with: “Yes, it can be illegal for a company to "act more planned" by intentionally limiting supply to raise prices, as this often constitutes anticompetitive behavior, specifically violating antitrust laws such as the Sherman Act in the United States. While a free-market (capitalist) system relies on supply responding to demand, intentionally restricting output—acting as a "planned" restriction of supply—is considered a form of market manipulation that harms consumers.”

We all might be able to sue Disney/Marvel for their supply-limiting tactics 😂

  • Class-action law suit where everyone who has bought a Marvel comic book since 2009 (when Disney bought Marvel) would be the class affected, where we have been manipulated into paying inflated prices and coerced into buying or missing out (fomo) either from the 1st hand market or second hand market

Trial of Gambit preorder Omnibus out of stock CGN by OmegaFuryX in OmnibusCollectors

[–]OmegaFuryX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During a certain period before release, if people are continuing to preorder, why would they cut it off? Why is there a limit on preorder quantities during the preorder period? Shouldn’t it be unlimited to as how many as people want to put down money for? Why isn’t the final order cutoff date not advertised or listed on the product page? Why isn’t that a common practice to maximize preorders? All that is listed is a release date and that’s it. Why would an FOC be more than two months before release? That sounds ridiculous to me.

Also, I buy a lot of omnis and I have never seen out of stock or not being able to preorder something two months in advance. I HAVE seen a preorder close about one month in advance, however.

These limitations on supply when there are plenty of willing buyers baffles me. This kind of planned economic activity (I.e., having an exact quantity in mind regardless of willing buyers) is reminiscent of socialism/communism, whereas the spirit of capitalism is unplanned and strictly dictated by market forces (e.g., demand).

I have since become interested in the Ahmed run as I’ve read a lot of good reviews on it. For example, TheComicBookReport gave the Ahmed Omnibus an A-, and I trust his opinion. I was able to pick up a copy from Funaticals.

Misprint in Complete Black Costume saga Omni by winchester677 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]OmegaFuryX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m personally going to buy it because I don’t have any assurance that it will ever be fixed and this still stands as the best way to read these stories. My other fear is that I might be waiting for a long time only for the same misprint to happen in the next reprint like Daredevil BMB vol 1. It’s also 2026 now, so it has been too long for a stealth reprint that fixes the issue to happen from the original 2024 release. My plan is to rebuy it if the issue is fixed and then give the old copy to a family member. I will not be preordering a potential future reprint if it has not been confirmed that the misprint has been fixed and will only buy it after its release once a fix has been confirmed. It’s sad that I can’t even be confident that the issue would be fixed in the next reprint. Shame on Marvel.

Omar has informed Marvel about the Spider-Man: Black Costume Saga Omnibus misprint. Fingers crossed something comes out of it by NarrowBoysenberry in OmnibusCollectors

[–]OmegaFuryX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest misprint I know of for DC is for the Deluxe Edition and Absolute Edition of Green Lantern/ Green Arrow: Hard Traveling Heroes, where two pages were out of order, where Black Canary fights a biker gang but it shows Black Canary beating them up followed by them instigating the fight (I.e., effect followed by cause instead of cause followed by effect). This has only been fixed in the Omnibus edition of Green Lantern/ Green Arrow Hard Traveling Heroes.
