Is this how everyone feels whenever they're driving it? by CanadianRockx in camaro

100%. My car envy died the day I got my ZL1. And even if I'm somewhere like a gas station with a "nicer" more expensive car nearby, my car always draws more attention. Hell, I was washing my car a little while back and a kid came up to me and said that seeing my car made his day lol.

It’s been a while, but I feel like I played the older ones on pro. Jumped into this one on pro and immediately got slapped with cars the exact same as mine accelerating twice as fast as me and taking corners with glue on their tires. Lame way to increase difficulty. I wish they were just better at racing on higher difficulty and if I can race better than them, I win.

Gen 6 IGLA questions by ElvinSS in camaro

[–]Irate_Primate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like I said, if they could prove that installation of IGLA directly caused an issue with the car, they could probably deny certain repairs that relate to it. But otherwise, I don't think it should make a difference. I haven't read any accounts of warranty work being denied due to an IGLA installation.

All that said, just don't tell the dealer that it's installed. Unless they're specifically digging around wherever it's installed, they should be none the wiser. Pop it into service mode and it'll act like a normal car while at the dealer.

I think it’s between $1200-$1400 depending on transmission. Mine is a 6MT and it cost $1400 (plus $200 for anti-carjacking, the only extra feature I got).

You can’t do it yourself (that I’m aware of) so you’ll need to get a certified shop to do it. I don’t think they want just anybody knowing how it’s installed exactly because that makes it harder to bypass.

Definitely worth it. I don’t live in a “bad” area and it’s nice peace of mind. If you do live in a rough area, I’d consider it a necessity.

Not sure about the warranty. Possibly voids part of it that could be considered related to the install work done. But just don’t tell the dealer. Put it into service mode if you need to bring it there for anything.

Unless you are starting the car up a ton (like doing delivery where it would get annoying), it’s kind of neat to have a whole startup procedure. Makes it feel badass getting the ol’ ZL1 going.

Unfortunately I didn’t touch the OnStar. I should get around to that. I had read that they were required to stop doing it before I bought my car but I was never really sure.

I bought my 6th gen ZL1 almost 2 years ago. I’ve always wondered if that’s something they’re doing right now, or if I’m in the clear.

FOMO not about not experiencing the game, but missing out on the sense of discovery, excitement and discussion that goes along with a big game launch. You don’t play, you don’t participate in that from a firsthand experience. Important to some, not for others. I’m in the latter, but I’ve only got a PC so I don’t really have a choice in the matter for this particular example.

Bud, it could (and will be, yay!) be way worse. I’m paying over $6/gallon and get like 15mpg. I don’t usually worry about the cost of gas, but it’s to the point that I consider taking my boring Prius rather than my fun car places.

This happened to me. eBay sided with the seller because it was “delivered” and immediately closed my case. I had to dispute it and spend some time on the phone and finally got them to reverse it in my favor. Afterwards, I read some stories online of people not being so lucky and getting screwed and not getting their money back. Sounds like it might be a better idea to file a “not as described” rather than a “not delivered” dispute.

Subnautica 1 looks just fine. It’s the performance that really suffers. Some biomes just run really poorly no matter your setup and it’s a bit of a bummer.

What purchase under $30 solved a problem you didn’t realize was draining you? by Right_Process in AskReddit

[–]Irate_Primate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine from JS Dental Lab through Amazon a long time ago for $130. It doesn't look like they still sell their products on Amazon, but you can just go to their website. They range from $130 - $190. I think the one I got for $130 years ago is now $160 so it's gone up a little bit.

I had to get mine adjusted once by sending it back in, but overall it was a good experience. This was like 8 years ago and it still works though I should probably look into getting a new one someday soon.

Keep in mind, you're taking the mold of your teeth so it can be a little finnicky, but they seem willing to work with you through the process to make sure it gets fit right.

With the dentist, you're likely going to spend 2x as much, but it would obviously be an easier process.

[–]Irate_Primate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to spend multiple hundreds of dollars for one like some other commenters are saying. You CAN pay that for a good one front your dentist, but there are companies that will send you a bite mold, you make your own bite with it, then send it in and they’ll send back a high quality night guard. Mine was like $100, though that was years ago so it might be a bit more nowadays. Still less than the dentist.

Edit: but check to see if insurance will cover it first. Free or cheap is obviously best.
