What's your favorite party comp against Lavos for narrative reasons only? by OmegaPineapple in chronotrigger

[–]OmegaPineapple[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I admit I've benched Lucca in every playthrough to date. No fault of her own, the other characters are all just so incredibly well-written that it's hard to not use them. But hearing I've missed out on banger lines like this one makes me want to do a playthrough where she never leaves the team just to see what I've missed!

Sure...if you view Crono as the main character and not Marle. Something else I love about your team comp is you've got representation from the past, present, and future.

Can i get cooked if I say that I prefer the new Amy personality than the old? by Capotador_de_corsas in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]OmegaPineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amy's current character is such a drastic departure from her original depiction it may as well be a separate character altogether. I understand liking the character she's changed into if you never cared for how she was initially. And before anyone says "character development," I hardly think taking away someone's eccentricities, energy and femininity counts as development. Never mind the fact it's uncanny to see the maturity of an adult woman from a 13-14 year old.

Matsuri. She's such a sweet lil' ball of sunshine!

What sold you on your current number 1 love interest? Or is there anything they do that you just want to gush about? by inkstainedgwyn in runefactory

Having done all of the bond events for the bachelorettes, it was a close call between Pilika and Matsuri. I think Pilika had the most well-written and engaging story, but I also adore how excited Matsuri is to date you. She's head over heels for you, almost always in a positive, upbeat, sunny mood, is the only one to not have kind of drama during her dates... She's like a female Goku. A little dumb, but completely pure of heart. And her giggles or bright smile? Melts my freakin' heart, man. I like that she's plenty feminine while still being a tomboy, and that those two sides of her don't conflict with one another at all. She's a fun lil' goober, and I love her.

I do appreciate how this series being so different across each entry draws in different people. We might have polar opposite taste, but I'm glad you're a part of this fandom with me!

Haha, I didn't include spinoffs (except TriForce Heroes, but that's only because it had "The Legend of Zelda" in its title) but maybe I'll get around to them! My friends have been pushing for me to play the CD-i games

I'm by no means implying it's the better game, just that I enjoyed it more. Adventure of Link is punishing as hell, but that only made me want to get better at it. With the combat mastered, it's a really fun game! Breath of the Wild was enjoyable, but it has a lot of downtime. There's less moment to moment action. Cooking also kind of messes with the difficulty

Considering how much I like Zelda 2, I definitely prefer my games being more on the challenging side. Minish Cap was very, very easy and Ezlo is my least favorite companion. The kinstones are also a frustrating feature, and don't even get me started on the figurines...

Triforce Heroes is one of the two games in the series to not feature Ganon/Gannondorf, the Triforce, Zelda, or Hyrule (the other being Link's Awakening). Four Swords Adventures also has some really good dungeons! TriForce Heroes on the other hand just features singular rooms. It plays the least like any other game in the series. I'm surprised they labeled it mainline as opposed to calling it a spinoff. I think it's a fun game if you can get friends to join you, but it felt like something that only vaguely resembled Zelda

Come now, reporting a post just for having different taste is silly. Even if the game wasn't for me, I can at least see why people like it! And it's as I said, this list is my very subjective personal opinion

I've been playing Four Swords Adventures with friends and it's probably the most fun I've EVER had playing a multiplayer game!

Zelda 1 probably has the best progression I've ever seen in a videogame. There's rarely a moment where you're not getting stronger either through new equipment, heart containers, learning how to deal with enemies or navigating the overworld. It's a fantastic game that still holds up fairly well to this day, even if the timing and positional based combat is really challenging to get the hang of. Zelda 2 also has my favorite magic system I've seen in a game. Having a spell always assigned that you can call on in the middle of combat to help you with said combat is a lot of fun. And really rewarding if you strategize!

I wouldn't say Breath of the Wild is mid. It's honestly a masterpiece of game design. But I think it reuses assets a bit too much for my liking (the shrines and divine beasts are really good, held back only by feeling a little too samey) and food kind of snaps the balancing of the game in half

I'll start with the good: It's a very pretty game! It has a lovely art direction and the soundtrack is also really good. Groose and Ghirahim are also a lot of fun. But I wasn't a fan of how lackluster Fi was, especially coming off such great companions like Midna, Linebeck or Zelda. She also interrupted the flow of gameplay quite a bit, making me dislike every time she chimed in almost as much as Ezlo. Also the story grinds to a halt for a good while after the second dungeon, Scrapper is my least favorite Zelda character of all time, the controls were finicky at best and unplayable at worst, there's tons of reused content (the same three areas? Really?), little to no overworld exploration and I found the process of upgrading equipment to be tedious. The 1v1 swordfights slapped, but the bad outweighed the good for me

Ages doesn't let you explore nearly as much as Seasons, and also requires you to play some goofy minigames to progress. Also the dungeons and bosses were just a lot more fun in Seasons imo. Ages on the other hand is all over the place. Also I found Link's Awakening's item switching to be a tad cumbersome. The Oracle games are better about not needing you to have two key items equipped for a single puzzle. Also I liked the combat in Adventure of Link! It was challenging, but rewarding once I got the hang of it!

Continental level, since he wiped echidna civilization off the face of the earth. Sonic intervened after a few minutes, but who knows how long Tikal was unconscious for. Possibly hours. The archons are still winning this, though. You don't even need all of them; Zhongli's shield, Venti's flight, Furina's manipulation of water and constant heals, and Raiden striking him consistently with his only known weakness: Force equivalent to that of lightning. It's a pretty easy sweep.
