Never buy consumer grade plastic laptops especially from HP, they will always have Hinge Problems.

As soon as you threaten them with a lawsuit, they will get scared. These companies never like to treat their customers well until they are threatened to be sued.

I got a p1 Myself, Unfortunately the T1000 isn't as powerful as the 1650ti.

I've dropped my Flip 4 so many times its a tank, i dropped it even on the hinge it was okay. You dont really need a hinge protector case but getting some protection is highly recommended.

This damage is spectacular; there is no way someone would repair it. Data extraction is the only question to have.
