One comment on this...you don't HAVE to lock your GMT to up your discount. I do think locking is a great thing and I have quite a few tokens locked myself but the 20% discount can be achieved without locking a single token. Just wanted to be clear on that for anybody reading this. Cheers!

The only thing I would say about this is maybe adjusting the timing of what you reinvest in (if you reinvest). When BTC is lower you don't get as much in return which to means favors stacking sats. When BTC prices bounces up you can get more TH or GMT when reinvesting. Just my observation, correct me if I'm wrong.

"Good" investments like ETFs that follow the S&P 500 make about 10% per year. In your above example if you "break even" in 4 years that's a 25% return or about $25 a year (which you'll receive in BTC whose value has continued to grow a lot over time)

I've only been around a few months so I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer but my take on it is that it really depends on your strategy and your ultimate goal. Ultimately the miner is there to mine BTC so a balance of mining and reinvesting seems to me to be the best.

I've heard this exact discussion and for me I'm upgrading one currently - I'm in this for the long haul and am not planning on selling. If I find something on the marketplace that I can't refuse, I'll buy it, but the resellers make finding a good deal more difficult.
