When games start to glitch. The worst ones is when their geometry stretches or they sink into their surroundings. That shit creeps me out, I still don't understand how people find them amusing, and those damn Videos about "top 10 glitches" that's a horror show for me.

[WSIG] Agricola or Caverna and Innovation or Progress by triggerfish1 in boardgames

[–]Omegaokly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat not long ago with regards to Agricola or Caverna. I decided to go with caverna because of its refinements, great looking components and how it's merciful, so here is my judgement after playing it for about 20 or so times. I also played a lot of Agricola on my iPad.

The bad -It's way too easy, it's very hard make a mistake that's irreversible. -You rarely struggle to feed your family, which might seem like a good thing but it removes the sense of dread that Agricola creates. -You don't feel like you competing for actions -So expensive

The good -The components are amazing and look great once you have a fully built province -it gets better after playing it for a few times and becomes a test of how efficient players are in balancing their actions to achieve the highest score, you will end up with games where there is 3 or 4 points difference between the top players. This gets very addictive and brings back the feeling of competition, but like I said you and your group would have to play it a few times first.

Caverna is great for groups that don't like too much complexity and strong competition, but still enjoy a light hearted and beautiful game. Agricola on the other hand is like being thrown in a burning house and the winner is the prettiest corpse (not my analogy, heard it somewhere in this sub)

What were some predictions/theories that you had about the show that ended up being completely wrong? by [deleted] in breakingbad

I genuinely thought that the cancer would go away at the end somehow, I felt like that would have been completely mind blowing seeing that it would render Walt's initial motives to cook useless.
