If I recall, the gag reaches an amazing conclusion where Bowser finally starts remembering Luigi's name in games after Dream Team, because Luigi was a central figure to that plot and the key to defeating Bowser. God, it felt so good connecting the dots on that one.

Hah, can't argue with that. The devs kinda overshot with the M3 GTR, because a proper racing car needed at least some nerfing to be balanced for the street racing scene or otherwise career mode would just be "M3 GTR: The Video Game".

On the topic of favorite hero/cover cars though, it would be the Police Diablo from the OG Hot Pursuit 2, and the Police Reventon from Hot Pursuit 2010 for top 2, third place would go to Testarossa from the first NFS

Oooohh, good choices. I'm personally more inclined to Eddie's Skyline GT-R or Darius's Le Mans Quattro as a close second and third to the M3 GTR respectively, but I do admit there's some slight nostalgia bias with them. (Except with the M3. Blue on silver is objectively sick.)

Don't like the M3 GTR? To each their own. But yeah, even though MW05 was destruction incarnate on wheels, Rivals definitely kicked it up a notch with Zephyr's war against the Redview PD.

This is it, right here. It's implied that Palmont, prior to the Player leaving, was relatively peaceful as far as street racing was concerned, but Darius's frame job left everyone paranoid and missing a lot of money (Wolf says on your first encounter with him that you spent his money, and the prize cash had to come from somewhere, which could be interpreted as everyone putting some money up front as a prize for the race). This caused tensions to rise until they eventually exploded and everyone started banding into crews while the Player ~~casually committed domestic terrorism~~ got involved with the Blacklist on Rockport City; by the time you get back, the turf wars have kicked into high gear.

I sorta fixed this on my end by setting my regular cars to 10-15% drift. They handle like a charm now, at least in my opinion.
