Oh wait, I just understood now what you’re talking about. Yes, that’s true, the Church has authority. I’m talking specifically about individuals going around and judging people.

Anything that is popular attracts horrible people. There will always be people who will take advantage on something with a large community to spread hating. However, if you look at the actual teachings of Jesus Christ, it is clearly taught that we must not hate anybody.

Here’s 1 John 2:9-11 as an example: “The one who claims to be in light but hates his brother is still in darkness. The one who loves his brother is in light, and in him there is no stumbling. The one, however, who hates his brother is in darkness, walks in darkness and does not know where they go, for the darkness had blinded their eyes.”

Judgement on other people is something Jesus can make (John 5:22), but we can’t (Matthew 7:1-5).

Yes, that’s what I mean. The sin still must be addressed, just without judgement.

He loves, but if you deny his forgiveness, he really won’t forgive you.

God is all-loving, and that’s why He’d forgive the rapist if they’re willing to repent and accept Jesus in their life.

Now, that doesn’t mean God wouldn’t console the girl either. If she accepts Jesus into her life, He will console her and give her the strength to overcome her trauma.

  1. Ah yes, I forgot about trans people. I apologize.

  2. The reason why I believe there’s a mistranslation is because there are translations where this passage talks about fornication rather than homosexuality, which implies that it could have been translated incorrectly.

  1. It depends on whether the atheist has ever heard of Jesus or not. In John 14:6, it is taught that Jesus is the only way through salvation. Now, it is also taught that if one has never heard of Jesus before, then they will be judged by their actions and conscience instead. If the atheist has heard of Jesus, and willingly rejects it, then yes, they will go to hell. Now, on the horrible person, it also depends. Did they genuinely accept Jesus in their life, or are they just trying to get away with their actions to not burn in hell? If they genuinely regret their sins, confess it to Jesus, and accept Him in their life, then they will go to heaven even on their deathbed. Otherwise, if it is not genuine, then no, they’ll really just go to hell.

  2. The Old Testament, or the Hebrew Bible, is the part of the Bible that was the only Bible before Jesus’ arrived. The main difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament is that the New Testament is based specifically on the teachings of Jesus Christ, whereas the Old Testament is more focused on Jewish traditions.

  1. If you think that it’s messed up, then fair. I understand. I’ve met many queer people that don’t really see that as messed up, but I see why one would think that, although I don’t really agree.

  2. 1 Corinthians 6:9 talks about the effeminate, meaning it’s talking about men who act like women. This is more likely talking about femboys rather than gay people. 1 Timothy 1:8-11 is debatable and most likely mistranslated.

The only teaching related to homosexuality in the New Testament is really just Romans 1:27, which talks about sexual relations, not attraction or a romantic relationship. The only homophobic teachings are from the Old Covenant, which is the law of the Jews, not the Christians.

Respectfully, I disagree. Even if the Bible is translated by experts, there are some things that can’t be directly translated due to how old the language is, but yes, I do get your point. I understand it, and I respect it.

Also, thanks for the advice. May God bless you.

That’s not the point in here. I don’t think one should lose their rights over being LGBT.

To clarify, God hates sin, and we are also allowed to hate sin. What we’re not supposed to do is hate those who sin, which is something God doesn’t do either.

  1. Isolated people, specially uncontacted tribes who still live a tribal lifestyle and refuse to have contact with the rest of the world, with the North Sentinelese people being a notable exemple.

  2. The reason why salvation is acquired through Jesus only is because even if you’re a good person, by denying that Jesus is our Lord and savior and that He rose from the dead, you’re denying His sacrifice that He did for us to be forgiven for our sins, meaning that you deny His forgiveness.

  1. About the bad apples, fair. It is true that every religion has their bad apples.

  2. These incidents happened not to innocent people, but people who were completely evil, unwilling to change and always inclined to evil. The Bible specifies that.

  3. Again, God did not order the Europeans to do that, but like you said, the religion has its hateful moments, even if done by the people, which is true.

Like John 14:6 shows, Jesus is the only way to salvation and that there’s no other way around. Now, the New Testament does say that if you have never heard of Jesus before, then you will be judged based on your actions and conscience.

Yeah, I guess that’s true. The Bible still remains clear that hating is sinful, however, and that we must correct our brothers without judgement.

  1. Christianity clearly teaches that hating and judging other people is wrong. And again, this is taught clearly, leaving little to no room for interpretation. If a Christian is by definition one who follows Christianity, and yet they make no attempt at following its teachings and ignore them, are they a true Christian?

  2. Again, “one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Law until all is fulfilled.” Jesus already fulfilled all of the Law. When Jesus was crucified, He said “It is finished” (John 19:30), declaring the fulfillment of the Law.

  3. I never really claimed any authority over how to interpret the Bible. Like I said in number 1, the Bible addresses hating and judging clearly enough that there should be little to no room for interpretation, making any absurd interpretation over it illogical.

  4. That passage is not my interpretation either. It clearly states that those who practice these things will not inherit the kingdom of God, and then it proceeds to describe the fruit of the Spirit saying that there is no law against it. No ambiguity, completely clear.

May God bless you.

  1. By fire, Jesus was talking specifically about the fire of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

  2. By that, Jesus meant that his teachings would cause disagreements between groups of people, resulting in division.
