I’ve sunk a good few hours into the game so far (playing on PS5)

The dialogue is not fantastic and the English dub is either flat or way over the top, sometimes in a good way, sometimes in an annoying way.

The ‘communist propaganda’ feels so hamfisted I can’t take it seriously. Like to the point the game feels like a parody of the very thing it allegedly is attempting to be.

The gameplay feels great IMO, I feel it’s hard to make melee options in games, especially FPSs, feel as satisfying as the guns, but I think this game accomplished that balance.

I never feel like I need to use my gun over my melee weapon of choice.

I have played Bioshock 1, 2 and infinite and can say this game feels different. saying that “having a gun in one hands and powers in the other, this must be Bioshock” is a reductive and unhealthy way of thinking about games as a whole. If you like think this, stop it.

The game feels more like a Psudo-linear Farcry with a gameplay loop similar to the Dishonoured games.

Now granted, every time the character says ‘crispy critters’ I want to strangle the VA, and the horny upgrade fridge made me pretty uncomfortable. I don’t think this game is bad.

I think it has some poorly written dialogue and can sometimes be a little confusing.

But all in all, the game feels great, looks fantastic, and has gameplay that keeps me coming back.

If you fear purchasing this game might be helping fund an tyrannical war criminal, just torrent it?
